    5 speed to automatic swap

Curious if anyone has experience with this kind of swap? I'd like to take out the factory 5 speed on my 03 sport, and install a 4 speed auto. Problems or issues to be expected? Thanks

    Different kind of YJ

I bet that'll be fun to drive, and definitely will be different from any other. Good for you on building what YOU wanted and not feel like you have to be one of the crowd.

    CJ-5 idle/running questions

I found a decent looking CJ-5 with a 304 and 3 speed stick-shift transmission, but haven't been to look at it yet. It needs a new top and the paint is cracking, but I can overlook that stuff for now. It's priced at $2900. My question is about how the owner describes it being "cold natured"...

    TJ 1st gear shakes

I was planning to drain and refill the transmission fluid, but haven't had a lot of luck finding info. on such a job. (manuals, fluid requirements, etc.) Even the local O'reilly's autoparts store wasn't very reassuring about how much transmission fluid I needed, or how to go about changing...

    TJ 1st gear shakes

Thank you all for the responses. I've had 2 mechanics look at my Jeep and say the same thing... that they think it is a warped/hot spotted flywheel. They said if I can deal with it, the clutch feels like it will last for quite awhile longer. Too bad I just bought this Jeep over a month ago, but...

    TJ 1st gear shakes

98 Jeep shakes when starting in 1st gear, worst when its just warming up, but seems to last longer lately. It pulls fine, even in too high of a gear. Any ideas? Clutch doesn't seem to be slipping, but it engages/disengages at the end of the pedal throw. Idle is fine. 4 cylinder & 5 speed.

    Need the fan shroud?

So I learned 2 new things today. 1.) I can reuse the old studs. 2.) Leave the radiator shroud in. I did both of these things. Thank you for your responses. I guess I was thinking of a picture I saw of an electric fan setup that didn't have a shroud. Is there some kind of difference with...

    Need the fan shroud?

I found that I had a waterpump leak, so I am in the process of replacing it. (also found that the replacement pump doesn't have the studs to hold the fan on, so I'll be using short bolts I suppose) Question: Do I need to have the fan shroud for anything? Or does it simply take up room? I...

1998 TJ, Poor mileage with the 4 cylinder

Hello, I've tried finding an older post that is similar to my problem, but no luck. So please bear with me. This last Sunday, I just bought a 1998 TJ with the 4 cylinder 5 speed, 108k miles, great shape for being 12 years old. It has 31 inch bfg at's on factory aluminum "gambler" style rims...
