    New jeep followed me home

That's awesome. The body looks great - how's the frame? Is it the 4 or 6 cylinder? I'm going to make my guess : bad fuel pump.

I was able to save the day on this broken spark plug.

My neighbor was doing a spark plug change on his wife's car, which I believe is a Hyundai. The threads actually broke off of the spark plug. We talked about it for a little bit and I ended up getting a large easy out and we were able to twist the threads out. I was wondering is there a better...

    Black Betty no start

I have no idea if it's good or not, but all the guys on youtube seem to use bottles like this to add fuel: https://www.amazon.com/Allstar-Performance-ALL40090-Primer-Bottle/dp/B009Q74MWK If you're serious, you could try something like this...

That's great man. I'm glad that you are pointed in the right direction.

Just got back from Jeep Jamboree - Coal Mountain

I've got the shroud / gasket on the radiator, and it's not cut or broken (I actually just replace that too). I've got a Motorad thermostat in there now - the only one that I could find with the hole in it is the Mopar one...

    Post weekend frame flush

I think this may be it (or at least similar) https://www.amazon.com/Salty-Captain-Chassis-Grenade-Undercarriage/dp/B0DZ8QK3GS/

    Post weekend frame flush

That's awesome. I hit mine with the pressure washer every now and then, but that looks like a much simpler (and maybe more effective) solution.

Just got back from Jeep Jamboree - Coal Mountain

I had done the radiator years ago (it is an aftermarket one) - I'm not exactly sure what you mean by radiator gaskets. I did the water pump almost two years ago, and the fan clutch less than a year ago. I don't think I've ever done the thermostat, and it looked like it, rusty on both sides. It...

Finally got a hard top for the 2019 wrangler

Looks great man! Does the hard top need a hoist to get off, or is it manageable with a couple of people?

Just got back from Jeep Jamboree - Coal Mountain

I took the family to the 2025 Jeep Jamboree in upper Pennsylvania. It was a blast! I was able to get two Jeep badge of honor badges, one for Barney Rubble trail and one for Fern Ridge trail. The trip started off on the wrong foot. I had made it 2 hours out of Virginia when the temperature began...

    Black Betty no start

Is it just cranking but not starting? Are you sure that it's ignition, and not something else like fuel? Maybe throw alittle gas or starting fluid down the carb? If you've done all this work, it may be worth the time to verify your firing order, and the condition of your battery terminals.

Threadlocker - Red vs Blue vs Gel vs Liquid

I returned both of those bottles to Amazon, and ended up getting some Permatex threadlocker. After reading a bit, it looks like Permatex bought Loctite, and they are basically the same thing. I've started using the Permatex orange. It claims to be high strength while removable by hand tools...

    Jeep TJ Transfer Case fluid

1.5 quarts is right on the money. I really love this fluid extractor, it made this job so easy. I've got aftermarket skid plates and I would have had to drain the fluid right onto the skid plate. I was able to unscrew the fill plug and suck all the fluid out right through that.

    Jeep TJ Transfer Case fluid

My owner's manual doesn't specify what fluid to use in my transfer case. I've done some google / youtubing and it looks like I should put about 2 quarts of ATF+4 in it. I haven't changed the fluid in my tcase in about 10 years, so I imagine it's time. Anyone able to verify this is correct...

    Help Please

Thanks for the followup. Is this a factory connector (as far as you can tell)?

    Help Please

Did that do the trick? I assume that you're supposed to loosen the bolt first, then pull on the white fingerhold.

    Uncertain about purchasing

I've got an 05, and there are a couple months a year where I throw $300 - $500 in parts at it, doing all my own work. Death wobble is a good example - every three years or so, I have to replace all my tie rod ends (I offroad a couple times a year), as well as my trackbar bushing, then get it...

    Hi lift jack operation

That's a good technique. I have a Hi-lift, and had it fall on me in my driveway. Didn't hit me hard enough to do any damage, but it was hard enough to make me not forget that lesson. I don't even take it with me on the trail any more - I've begun bringing a good size bottle jack with me instead.

Things are good over here! I'll be going to my second Jeep Jamboree this summer - getting the kids into it as well. My 15 year old is looking for a four door JK as his first car. How have you been?
