I've read of that trick before. Whoever wrote it mentioned to drill a series of holes in the bushing all around the bolt. That should make it easier to remove the bushing, in turn, making it easier to remove the bolt.

I've heard that 31" is the maximum tire size to put on a YJ tailgate. Anything larger than that and you could be ordering new hinges within a few hundred miles of driving. I also like the look of the bumper mounted tire carriers, but not the price... too much for my bank account!

When you're working on the Herculiner project, make sure to spend a LOT of time on the prep work. I've read time and time again that the final result is in direct relationship to the amount of preparation (sanding, cleaning, masking, etc.). Those that skimped on the preparation paid for it...

Wow! I wish my '93 YJ frame looked like that when I took my Jeep apart! For those that may be interested, what price/trade are you asking for this frame? Where is it located (Ohio?)?

oz-jeep, have you made any progress with determining the noise source and replacing the u-joints?

I saw this TJ late last week with a new (used?) soft top, but nothing else on the exterior replaced. Good thing the new top was put on recently... we've had heavy rains the past two days.

Before I took posession of my YJ, the previous owner had spliced the trailer wiring harness into the tail light wires.... no plug-n-play setup like the one you've ordered from Napa Auto.

Did this happen before the new rods and ends? If not, check closely to be sure the rods and ends aren't getting hung up on something (look for exposed bare metal on one or more surfaces). Otherwise, going off of what you've described, my guess would be the steering gear box. There is likely a...
