    CJ5 steering linkage slop

As far as I can tell, the rubber is the rag joint. They are used in between the steering wheel shaft and steering box, right ? It very well might be a factory item, just order one. Don't weld it together, that would be some Mickey Mouse work right there, that's for sure ! Have you tried to look...

How to dispose of used parts?

Save your self some time and call them first, not all metal recyclers take auto parts. Thank you for doing the right thing with your old parts, in my neck of the woods, half the people just dump in the desert!

What is the best Wrangler model to buy used?

Pay no attention to superj, obviously he doesn't know what he's talking about ! I would say by the type of questions you are asking, your probably not a grade A mechanic, and that's okay. It's just according to superj, you should get a Jeep that is so old, it'll probably need everything...

    small cb radio

I think mine is a Cobra hand held, portable that I move from Jeep to Jeep. It's rechargable or plug it into the cigar lighter.Came in a box with the unit, charger, rechargable batt. pack, and another batt. holder that I put rechargable batts. in. Weather, emergency and you can run an external...

What did you do to your Jeep today?

5 weeks after surgery I was able to climb into my Jeep and start it. I couldn't drive it but, I was able to warm it up and go through the gears, move the steering work the brakes a little. Inspiration for healing, that's for sure !

What is the best Wrangler model to buy used?

Buy the newest one you can afford, look under it to verify it has not been beaten on, amongst other things, of course. Then, get rid of the Prius, and buy another Jeep. Also look into, and invest in blue ribbon coalition. com they are fighting the battle everyday to keep our trails open. Also...

    Chev 350.. possible transmissions

Sorry Dragon 5126, you are wrong about that, the lower your first gear is, compounded by your t. case gearing and tire size, determines the final crawl ratio. If you think gearing in your transmission has nothing to do with the final crawl ratio, why don't you put your T case in low, your...

    Chev 350.. possible transmissions

An SM 465 will bolt right to your 350 and it is a 4 speed manual with a low first gear. The guy above me who swears about the turbo 400 is right except for one thing, your not doing technical slow crawling with a th400.

What is your holy grail Jeep?

Hey Jeepergeo, that is a Jeep alright, a great Jeep ! Mine is a 61 and is my holy grail. I don't know why you would ask if it is a Jeep. It's got a winch and 4 wheel drive ! Mine is a little modded and a little different then yours but I like your wagon.

    D35 locker or not

There are many things you can do to make your d35 survive. You can do a little at a time. Ultimately you look at what you have done and spent and wonder if it was worth it. At my age I would swap the axle right now. At your age I would scour every place I could and buy a locker, maybe even used...
