Thanks, I already used #8 phillips screws that were 3/4 inches long. By the way, I cleaned my old visors and painted them with vinyl paint and they look brand new.

I met someone at a car show last Sunday that does stripping. He offered to do my car (for free), then I went home and did some masking and painting. I saw him a couple of days later and he said he would do the rest of the car for me.

Does anybody know if screws or bolts attach the visors on an 89 Wrangler? What size are they? Thanks for any help you can give me.

What is the best way to keep the zippers on a Bestop working smooth? Also, what cleaning products should I be using? Thanks for the help-new top and no experience with one

    Weatherstrip question

I finally got them in-I used a small blade and pulled the slotted holes towards the glass a little to make it easier to fit the tabs in, then I ran a thin bead of silicone under the outer edge of the rubber (my Jeep vibrates a lot).

    Weatherstrip question

So you just held the weatherstriping over the slots and pushed straight down and the pins went in?

    Weatherstrip question

So how do you push those tight suckers in? I assume you can do it with the window fully down.

    Weatherstrip question

Any tips on installing the piece that goes on the door against the window on an 89 YJ? There are 4 clips that are supposed to go into 4 slots on the door, but they are VERY tight. When I opened them up a bit. they went on but got pulled out so they were too loose.

Or different flares, which is one of my future projects. I also want to eliminate the parking light in the flare, since I installed a small LED amber light on the fender.

Now I am busy getting the little things done-stereo and electronic speedo not working so I have to find the wiring problem, trimming floormats to fit around the cage, installing all new weatherstripping (pain in the a$$ trying to remove the one around the door), etc. And I just ordered a new...

Conventional wheelie bars will be a problem. Since my fuel cell and battery box protrude through the floor, the wheelie bars can not mount straight to the differential. I am thinking about having something come out of the back of the traction bars, perhaps. I have to speak with the chassis...

Which Munster car? Their coach or grandpa's coffin car? We weighed the car and it is 2906 pounds (between 710 and 780 at each corner). The engine was rated at 450 HP. According to 1/4 Mile ET Calculator I should do 11.43 at the track. But the car feels much quicker than that. Like I said...

I finally brought the Beast home yesterday afternoon, then took it for a spin this afternoon. To be honest, I think I bit off more than I can chew (for now at least). This is the first car that I have ever driven (and believe me that I have driven some pretty fast cars) that truly frightens...

Isnt the factory front end with the differential like a solid front axle? The only difference is mine wont spin the wheels. Custom paint job definitely in the plans. Axle may still be changed in future. I was talking to Bobby yesterday about the reverse shackle, and he said at this point...

Cage complete. Drag radials on order for the rear Weld wheels. They have more offset and fit under better. Plan on using round CJ7 flares. Gotta get half doors soon-any used ones around for cheap???

Just got back from the shop. Will be done next week for sure. Now I need to find a place near Hicksville to get it inspected so I can drive it home to Queens. They had the roll cage out and were painting it. All that is left is mounting the drive shaft loop and fuel filter. Then when I get...

I checked into it, and the turnouts should make the exhaust exit alright. Bobby pointed out to me that convertible Vettes have been using sidepipes that exit where mine does for years without complaints.

Roll cage nearly finished-just needed to sit in the seat to see where the side bars go. When I mounted the Tuffy center console, I centered it with the trans tunnel. Little did I realize that it was off to the side. So now both the console and passenger seat had to be moved to the right 3/4...
