I simply sprayed mine with a product called Jet Wet from autozone and put new life in them. It's really a tire procuct but does a good job on dash pads and other things. It's a temporary fix that you can repeat. give it a try.

Has anyone had trouble with the plastic bushing wearing out in the bell crank working the clutch? Mine seem to last about a year. I wonder if there is a metal bushing that can be used instead of the plastic one?

I did the same mod on a cj7, blazer motor and new heater core. Check your thermostat. If any thing the blazer motor outblows the small heater core.

I know you have replaced your fuel filter. Sometimes it can be something very simple. Hope that is so in your case.
