Well, after researching forever, I've finally found a head unit that FITS into the stock 1.5 DIN slot. Here's the info on the Jensen VM8013HD. There is also a Jensen VM8013 that's out that just doesn't have the HD radio, everything else is the same. I hate the way a single DIN stereo looks...

Well, the sensor wasn't even there...just a plug dangling by itself :P I bought one and put it in, and check engine light is gone! However, the sensor didn't "clip" into the battery holder at all, it just sits in the hole. Am I missing something that it should fit into?

Thanks for the heads up on the flares. I was thinking i'd like to keep my tires, just widen out their stance. Would spacers be the only thing to do that?

I was able to pinpoint it today, since it got much louder. It seems to be coming from the idler pulley after all :) good deal, I'll just replace it...cheap part too!
