You wont b able to tell that your RCA cable is bad by looking at it.

You could always put it on a toggle switch

I'm not sure on Jeeps. It shouldn't matter as long as its well grounded to either you're body or frame. You should be able to run it from a bolt off the back of your blower motor to any available spot.

Try running a new ground from you're blower motor. I've seen that a lot of Chevrolets.

Ive seen a lot of radios tuned up and on some big linears. I've never seen one talk like that.

The cable is called a coax. Don't opt out for a cheap one either because it will make a difference. U can get them at radio shack. (Not sure if u even have radio shacks). Once u get it all hooked up run it through an SWR meter to see if its right

I'm not sure if they are illegal to possess in Texas however u can't buy them legally. I doubt it will reach main. I have reached out 45 or 50 miles before but the person picking me up wad on a base station. Its good for 20 miles if there CB is tuned up also.

In south east Texas a CB comes in handy. Get rid of the fiberglass and get a stainless antenna. You will want to put a spring on it. We use what's called a stainless 102. Its 102 inches. Also known as a whip. Add that to a tuned up cobra 25 with 400 Watt leaniard and you can really reach out...

That's 6inch suspension on the 73. 38" swampers. My friend sprayed it for me so I'm not sure on all the exacts but ill find out for u. I was surprised at how good it turned out. Looks good and I've put it thru some thickets and it don't scratch. My 82 cj5 is next. You'll like this set up

You're RCA cables are bad. Usually you can play with them where they attach to you're amp and cause a difference in the beating its causing. Fosgate amps require a pretty high quality RCA.

Those ignitions are pretty simple and really inexpensive. Does you amp gauge work? If so turn your key to the off position and see if it still reads the battery's amps. If you have a battery (load) tester you can hook it to your battery and see if your still drawing power with ignition off...

I agree. I just went through the same problem with my73 cj5. If ignition switch had a short n it and would drain my battery if I let it sit to long. I could turn my key to the off position and the amp gauge would still read the juice n my battery.

What year model is your cj-5.
