    Give me some mileages!

My '88 had around 300k on it when I sold it. Never had any serious motor work done in it's life and it's still running strong

    Wrangler or Rubicon???

Where exactly in the northwest do you live? I've lived all over Oregon and Washington (about as NW as you can get), and have certainly not seen that!!

    AC pump placement

Just be sure to keep all the a/c stuff, in case you ever sell the rig! Most people like it!

    4 wheel drive

Be at a total stop to shift into 4 low! Otherwise you'll hear some loud noises, which are bad! Although i'm assuming if the new jeeps are anything like all the other new 4x4's, it won't let you shift to 4 low unless you're stopped.

    Wrangler or Rubicon???

If you're keeping it stock, get a Rubicon. If you're going to modify everything...including axles, big tires, etc, you might as well start off with a wrangler.

    Steering Stabilizer Questions

Technically no vehicle should need a stabilizer. All a stabilizer does is cover up an existing problem (i.e. worn parts, alignment, etc) like Ggg said. But, I must admit I've ran both Skyjacker and Rancho and they both performed very good. Couldn't tell you which one is better, as like I said...

What do you guys think about "Cash-for-clunkers"

So does the vehicle even have to be complete? If you know someone who wants the engine...just pull it out then roll the car into the dealership. hahaha

    2.5l

Keep in mind you'll have to have pistons that will fit that bore. So obviously you can't just pick random numbers out of the air. Do you know someone that makes a piston for that type of bore? I really doubt there's room to safely go the big anyways on that motor.

    AC pump placement

I'm saying it should still fit in in the same spot the stock air box is. The stock one is there, and so is the a/c pump.

    AC pump placement

What's the part number for the one you have? 57-1514-1? Look at the pictures here. Looks like the box and filter should be in the same location as the stock air filter box. You have any pictures of yours installed? Or at least of the k&n filter and box down in there to check clearances...
