Re: RE: Re: Cherokee purchase, what model is best?
Hi,
My e-brake cables were too short on my Cherokee after I installed two battery boxes under the rear seat and had to route the cables around them.
To fix this problem without having to buy longer cables, I did the following:
First I...
Hi,
IMO, it is beyond ridiculous. I don't like it :x
Though, It is good to hear that they used a variable displacement system on the engines. That way you can improve your gas mileage from 3mpg to 6mpg whenever you want

Hi,
Well, whenever I'm not doing school and college admissions stuff, or working, I'm working on:
- In the initial stages of making my Wrangler an LPG/Gasoline hybrid (hope to be done in a couple months)
- Finishing work on a Pulse Width Modulation type motor controller for my Cherokee's...
Hi,
Be careful here.... most light fixtures have a lamp wattage rating to prevent the fixture from melting or overheating due to the heat output of a larger lamp.
Also, as a side note, just remember that a Watt is a measurement of power consumed (in this case electrical power), NOT light...
Hi,
I've found that AllData ( http://www.alldatadiy.com/ ) is a good place to get specific information and schematics from the factory service manual. It is subscription based, though.

Hi,
So were you interested or not? If so, I can dig up a schematic and help you do this... but I don't get much time on the boards except on weekends anymore.

Hi,
It depends what model and year the Jeep is. For example, the early Cherokees (like pre 1990) did not flash the side markers with the turn signals. All newer Cherokees did. The TJ Wrangler is also setup to flash the side marker lamps with the turn signals. Sorry, I don't know about the YJs...
RE: Jeep & Joopin designed decals
Hi,
No, I wouldn't solder directly to the unit's input pins.... You really need to get the proper harness adapter. I think most head units use a standard connector. You might check www.crutchfield.com if you can't find one locally.

Hi,
I've never had a Jeep full of snow (It never snows here), but I have had the Wrangler soaked a few times.
You know, watering the driveway won't make it grow :P ... or were the sprinklers just badly out of adjustment?

Hi,
I really don't know much about that system so this is just a guess. If that information center gets any info from the Antilock Brake System, maybe one of your wheel sensors is sending an incorrect signal which is making the "wheels" in the display blink?
Or maybe the blinking wheel...
Thanks! I have a bit of a personal vendetta against websites which are either poorly designed and/or are not informative. I wasn't about to create a website unless it was the best I could make it be 8)
Yes.
Thanks again for the kind words. Now I just need the colleges to realize...

Hi,
It seems us moderators kept our ranks while everyone else lost them?
Anyways, they don't bother me one bit. In my opinion, they are a VERY MINOR issue which has been blown out of proportion.

Hi,
It could be a vacuum leak, but It would have to be a fairly large one to be heard over the sound of the Jeep while it is being driven. Maybe your air intake is leaking or partially clogged which is causing it to make a wierd sound?
-Nick :!:
Hi,
It could be water leaking in from somewhere along the windshield or door, OR water leaking from the air conditioner's evaporative coil housing due to a clogged drain tube. Did/Does the water appear after running the air conditioner or defroster?

Hi,
My only website right now is my Jeep EV conversion website. It only has pictures and info about my Cherokee, at least until I do something with my Wrangler. http://Go.DriveEV.com/

Hi,
I have had this exact problem before with my Cherokee.
The problem ended up being that both front parking/turn signal light sockets were corroded, AND the grounding pins had broken off in them. So, without a path to ground, the filament on one circuit would "feed back" to groud through the...
