    Inspection Stickers

North Carolina still does it - pre-1996 vehicle exempt from emissions. No stickers, it's all computerized. Had some repairs done on mudwoman's '94 YJ (knew the cat had been removed and the CEL had been on for years), found the O2 sensor unplugged, so I plugged it back in. The mechanic told me...

    2011 Wrangler Brakes

Doesn't sound right to me, I don't care what vehicle it is. Brakes are brakes.......pretty basic and very important. That "service" dept. and "mgr" are full of beans.....ain't nothin' normal about those symptoms. Sounds like you've got some problems.......possible master cylinder, possibly some...

    Climbing Mt. Washington NH

I believe it's paved all the way, just steep.......unlike Pike's Peak. Anyway, shouldn't be a problem for a Jeep. I'm pretty sure "Soccer SUV's" go up and down it all the time. Have fun and enjoy the country!!! Upstate NY, VT, NH, and Maine are beautiful places. While you're up there, check out...

    jeep wont start HELP

I think if you use the "search" feature on here, you will find an "upgrade alternator" that will work. Seems I remember reading a few threads on that in the past. Fords, maybe???? You should be able to find something out with a search......JeepZ Rules!!!

    98 Wrangler running hot HELP!!

Well, yes, I did forget about that. Stinkin' electronics. Not sure how to check the actual temperature, other than the smells they emit.......something else to check - the gauge.

    98 Wrangler running hot HELP!!

OK...not a mechanic here, just trying to think logically......... Water recirculates to disapate the heat from combustion.....fairly new radiator, fan clutch, radiator cap, water pump, and thermostat.........there has to be some sort of restriction or bad pump to cause it to shoot up suddenly...

    lil bit of upgrade

Sorry, just realized you're runnin' 33's..........so how 'bout some '33 AT's?? The 31's would probably look really odd on your set-up. Anyway, I'm thinking an AT tread is what you're looking for - just ditched my mudders on my TJ (Rotate, rotate, rotate!!!!......I forgot that lesson!!) and am...

New to Jeeps and have a question

Not a mechanic here but have driven cluthes all my life. Took me a while to get used to hydraulic clutches (I think my first was a Toyota truck). Sounds like a hydraulic issue...Jeeps have both a master and a slave cylinder assisting you (hydraulically) with your "footage". Sounds hydraulic to...

    Newbie 4 wheel drive question

Good to have an "auto" guy post in, Terry! I was hoping I wasn't giving bad advice. Good advice (like here on the "Z") beats the hell out of throwing money at parts here, parts there, when all you needed was someone who's been there/done that! Thanks for posting in............LOVE the "Z"!!!

    Newbie 4 wheel drive question

I would tend to agree with you that it's a linkage issue. I've got a manual transmission, but never really had any problem getting into/out of 4-lo. Always do it in neutral, not always rolling, but never had a problem. Maybe someone else can chime in an help you more.

    lil bit of upgrade

I think you'd be happy with the ride and the somewhat good looks of a 31x10.5 AT tire. BTW.......Jeep looks sweet!!
