    Comanche?

That's just your basic Willys pickup........not sure if they really named them back then. The Comanche's (sp?) came later on when AMC and others became involved. BTW........I really love those things!!! Love the old Willys wagons even better (and they did have a few names).

    o2 sensor

Yeah, you're right! Will generally flip a code. I have an '03 4 banger......only 2 - one up by the manifold and the other one down underneath. I've always wondered what the difference is between "upstream" and "downstream".....different part numbers but what's the difference between what they...

    Thanks Terry

Terry, I think it was originally a white background with colored letters (can't remember what color - I've still got another one, thanks to you, so I'll have to check). Same thing happened to my "WHEE" (for Cullowhee - home of Western Carolina University) sticker. It was the usual white...

    o2 sensor

Just keep an eye on your gas mileage. Those O2 sensors will suck the gas mileage down when they quit doing their thing, whatever that is. When mine went bad (I have 2!?!?) also noticed an appreciable loss of power. Hope that helps.

    Hurricane!!

Terry (and ALL in the path), glad to hear everything's OK! We got lucky (again) this time. Looks like most of the damage/problems are water related. Never forget that Mother Nature rules when all is said and done.

    death wobble

Pretty much what I said in another thread........has been my personal experience with my '03. Tires, tires, tires - probably the cheapest thing to cure.

    jeep wrangler trouble code P0171

From what I've read (Google, of course) it's an O2 sensor code. Probably from sittin' in the mud all night. A good cleaning of the underside (maybe even a pressure washer?) might clear the code. My search mentioned something about the MAP sensor, too. But, basically, when you sink them in the...

what do u like most bout driving a jeep?

I remember when I first got my license....saw a '61 Jeep parked by the Dairy Queen for sale. I loved that thing, didn't have a job or any money, but I was hooked (this was 1969). As life went on and I married, had kids, drove all kinds of stuff that was offered, my Jeep dreams in the background...

    Hurricane!!

Obviously, you didn't see what Katrina did to the Mississippi coast.......nothing left but foundations and steps. And Katrina hit land as a Cat 3. And Andrew sure didn't do Homestead any favors (guessing you didn't grow up in Homestead). Anyway, Terry, get out if you can, stay safe if you can't...

Nix on the steering stabalizer.....it would only mask the true problem.

    Help!!

:agree:I have an '03 with 160K miles on it. Have had several "wobbling" issues over the years and they have all been tire related. As for your other issue, pull the codes (search it on here - you can probably do it yourself) and then we can be of more help. How many miles on your TJ? O2 sensors...

    Hurricane!!

Good choice!! When Gustav hit us down in Louisiana, we were without power for a week. No power = no refrigeration, no AC, no gas pumps, no stores. Thank God the Nat'l Guard supplied us with MRE's, water, and ice........but no TP (other than the little sheet you get in an MRE) and no beer...

    Advise on roof racks please?

Yeah, so do I, but I don't air down much. It takes a while to air up with the cheapie thing, but I'm not usually in a hurry.

    Advise on roof racks please?

I would assume it's for airing back up for the highway, after airing down for the trail. Cheaper and easier than putting in a compressor and on-board air system.

Engine noise after replacing spark plugs.

I was worried when you first posted that perhaps you had the wrong plugs and they popped the top of the piston or something similarly horrible. But from your description of the sound, it sounds like something blown in the exhaust system. Should be easy to find that. Gasket somewhere, perhaps?

Hacker Group Plans to Kill Facebook on Nov. 5, 2011

I'm not real worried about anybody doing anything with what I post/use on Facebook. Just don't click on every stupid thing you see and don't share what you don't want shared.......seems pretty simple to me. No need to ruin 500 million people's day.
