It's a loose connection in the wiring harness behind the guage cluster. It happened to my '98 and was fixed under warranty. That's the best explanation I could get out of the service dept. It comes and goes, too, so, if you're not under warranty, you may want to deal with it. -X

Hood Vents? Make sure you "Close" the CD when you record it. Many factory players will not play re-writables, so you have to burn it in disc-at-once mode and close it for older players to work. If Mud's correct, this may solve your problem.

RE: currupt, It has the plastic strip across the front that slides into the header track screwed into the windsheild frame. I'm pretty sure the YJ is the same. I'm using a YJ bikini top now on my CJ that I got from 88wrangles. As you can see, I put some pics up in the orig. post. -X
