    SUBMERGED JEEP

I've put an 88 Ford F-250 all the way into a lake. I did everything I could to salvage it but ended up with lots of trouble. Take some advice from those that have been down this road & get rid of it at whatever the cost. Ít's not worth keeping. SERIOUSLY!

How to install Smittybilt Side Steps

I installed mine with self tapping bolts that only required a pilot hole. I then ran them in with an impact wrench. A long handled socket wrench will work if no impact is available.

    Hi Lift

If you don't have access to a hydraulic press you can do this........ Make a bridge out of your jack by putting small blocks of wood (such as 2x4s) laid flat under each end. Place another longer piece 90 degrees as a ramp, in the middle with the arched side of your jack turned up. You can use...

    Waynoka Dunes trip

I've been getting advice from others to reconsider the stock manifolds as apparently they do flow fairly well, stay sealed to the heads & exhaust flanges better than headers. I'll do additional research before making the change.

    Frame rust

My repair got a very thorough test this weekend. I caught some major air off some steep dunes at night. It's extremely hard to judge the speed you need to climb dunes at night as you can't see the top till your pretty close. Also sometimes it drops off just as quick on the other side so you have...

    Compromised or specialized?

Well I blew the muffler last time out so I think headers & dual exhaust are on the agenda. I definately need some sort of locker in both diffs. Would like the Detroit in the rear, ARB in the front but would like a less expensive alternative with out sacraficing a whole lot. I'm not going to get...

    Frame rust

I repaired the rusted frame by; removing the body perch from the frame above the rear spring hanger. Fabricate & weld in steel plating & angle irons around the spring hanger & along frame. Modified the body mount & rewelded it back on top of new bracing. It's much stronger now than original...

    super swamper tires

I have 33x15.5x15 Interco Super Swamper on my 76 CJ-7. I wouldn't recommend them for any street use. They are extremely noisey, ride terrible, & wear even worse. Great off road tire though!

    Compromised or specialized?

It has the T-18 with the Dana 20 transfer. I was told this was a popular Ford truck trans. & I could put the gears from one into my case to get the granny low first gear for rock crawling.

    Frame rust

The CJ-7 I just got has some serious rust developing at one of the rear spring hangers. Is there an easy way to repair this without cutting out the rust & replacing the frame section?

    Compromised or specialized?

Í did it guys.....I bought O'l Rusty but at reduction from asking price. Turned out to be a great deal that I just couldn't resist. It's a 76 CJ-7 with a stock 304 that just received a major overhaul recently. Came with 3 different tops( I'll need a new rear hatch for the glass top as it's...

    Question about high lift jacks

I've owned & used a cast one for many years. They are a very great tool to have along with some WD-40. You'll cuss plenty if you forget some sort of lube as they get sticky pretty easy if stored outside.

Some other specs. Rescue H2 80"wide 81.2" 196.5 long 189.8 " 37" tires 35" The Resue has a couple of cool fetures worth mentioning; 3D topographic navigational system cameras under the chassis...

Might sell the Jeep, what would be a realistic price to ask?

I'll second that one mujamam! To answer his question though a vehical is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If the guy has been bugging you to sell it for this long it seems as if he'd be willing to give top dollar for it. My advice would be to start with a high price and let...

    Jeepster Commando

I used to have a 69 that was the same color. It had the stock Buick V6 & turbo GM400 auto. These are extremely rare to find with out major rust problems. There is a member in our local 4x4 club that has a 70 for sale in pretty good condition for $2500 that I'm considering.
