    97 Cherokee sport

Driving home today I spotted a 97 Cherokee sport on a used car lot. What really caught my eye on this was how nice and clean it looked. I stopped and talked to the salesman that only had maybe 15 minutes left on his shift, so I quickly took a peek. Few drips of oil here and there below the valve...

Timing on 97 TJ is off HELP!!!

What symptoms did you have before you installed the timing chain? It is impossible to be 180* off on a 4.0 timing chain. Could possibly be off 1 tooth on the timing set, or more than likely 1 tooth off on the distributor gear.

94 ax 15 wont go in 5th gear

5th is always the first to go in the ax15,if it over used. It is a small gear and can't take the abuse of driving bogged down.

    Engine swap

Yep, same casting number on the blocks, they are identical. Just curious if I need to switch the actual mounting brackets themselves. Looking at the brown dog website it appeared anyways that there same bracket kits fit both applications, until you start adding headers and body lifts.

    Engine swap

Does anybody know if the 93 wrangler and the 94 Cherokee share the same motor mounting brackets? Thanks, Greg.

    YJ manual locking hubs

Hello Rob, Go to the Reid racing website and look under Dana/30 44 conversion knuckles. The knuckles themselves are expensive but you can use them to convert to a high steer setup also. Also they have a parts list with part numbers for all the conversion pieces that you would need. Really the...

    Distributor 4.0

Does anybody know the difference between 1993-1994 with the jeep 4.0 distributors? is the wireing pigtail different or the gear size? I know the pigtail on the 1993 is 3-prong. I'm going to instal a 1994 motor from a Cherokee into a 1993 wrangler and the doner did not come with the distributor...

    Oil pump mounting

Looking at it again it appears the high spot is centered at about the oil pump discharge hole into the block, and between the mounting bolt holes. There is a .010" gap with a feeler gauge if the pump is pressed down at one of the bolt locations. Thinking about adding a .005" shim at the bolt...

    Oil pump mounting

I was test fitting a new melling oil pump to my 94 Cherokee 4.0 block this morning (test fit no gasket) and noticed a definite rocking back and fourth on the mateing surfaces. Checked with a straight edge and it is in the block not the pump surface. :?:Wondering if anyone else has noticed this...

    YJ fender flares

Looking to instal larger flares on the wrangler to cover up the wider tires and wheels. Need a min of a 6" set. What is everyone's opinion on the best looking flares? I do want to stay away from cutting away sheet metal to make flares fit. 93 wrangler yj. Thanks, Greg.

    4.0 HO camshaft

Anyone out there have a 4.0 ho stock camshaft from a 91-95 jeep they could take some measurements from? Or have already measured. Purchased a mild reground upgrade RV1 from delta and gave them my old one for a core already. Just picked up my machined block and head and had a little more shaved...

    YJ manual locking hubs

;)Hello Jps4jeep, Already did a conversion, but not in a kit. Just checking to see if anyone was able to rework there indicator switch to work without the disco setup. And I know this is no big deal for many, buck cool if it still worked. It's already wired with a light bulb and a handy...

    Locking Hubs on YJ

Hello 88yj6, Go to the Reed Racing website and look at there Dana 30/44 conversion knuckles with the high steer option. They are about 500 dollars for the pair but you can switch over to high steer at the same time if you wish. All the components can be had for manual hubs from the auto parts...
