    The rear end noise is probly worn out bearings. My brothers jeep came with it and it was under 200... The front steering I don't know.. could be bad ball joints or a loose joint somewhere. Probly around the same price range.

    Chech ur battery terminals. Something very similitude happened to me on a 97 Tacoma except it would run fine.. if ur terminals are loose it it won't have good enough contact to get the power it needs

    Start with fuses. Most likely itl be something with ur fuel system or spark. You can check if its fuel by spraying some ether down the throttle body

    Question.. when driving my 97 xj in slower traffic it stays at an okay temp but once I hit about 60 after a while my temp goes higher than I like... How do I keep it cool under higher loads and higher speeds? I have an all aluminum 2core radiator that's brand new new water pump and new tstat

    Yeah its ur lower control ARM mount.. but with that much of the frame rusted its going to be a lot more than just simply welding it back on..

    How old is the radiator and water pump? How long have you owned it? The previous owner may have ran it with just regular tap water wich corrodes things like thaw blades on the pump and inside the radiator.. I replaced min recently and I'm running a 192 tstat. My jeep runs at about 210 sometimes...

    Is the main bolt pattern for a i6 engine the same on the 4 .. in other words will an ax15 from the 4.0 fit the 4 banger?

    You can do it yourself. You need a jack that can lift the jeep high enough to extend ur suspension all the way. For the front lift it up and put jackstands under the frame just behing the control ARM mounts. Then put a jack under your axle and lift it to take both tires off. Disconnect ur sway...

    Evaporative leak ?

    Usually the evaporation leak has to do with the fuel system. It's important for emissions and if you take it to a place that does smog fixes they can do a fuel evaporation test to find where the leak is... Basically they pump ur gastank full of smoke and look for where it comes out....

    It doesnt have to ne what the manual says.. go to any local auto parts store and they should have plugs that will fit.. it just won't be the same brand.. but at least compare them side by side to make sure they are the right length

    Yeah its perfect with a 3 inch spring and a 1.5 inch shackle. I've been able to het it to compress and droop the full length of the shock right up to the stock bumps

    It depends on where you are for the junkyard. I'm in southern cali so rust damage isnt nearly as bad as most places. I see 60s vw's, 70s chevys and fords and all kinds of old cars in local junkyards
