    EGR Valve?

I have double checked and I am using the vacuum port that Weber recommends for the EGR. I will also try bypassing the CTO switch when the engine is warm to eliminate that possibility, since the CTO opens fully at about 155°. I bought a vacuum gage, and I will MONKEY with that today. Thanks...

    EGR Valve?

Thanks for the link. I hooked up the EGR and the engine just dies??? Maybe the Weber pulls more vacuum than the Carter. Any ideas?

    EGR Valve?

No Computer… It’s a 79 CJ. The EGR has never been hooked up but I have read keeping it hooked up is a good idea…. I have no idea?? I know I need a thermal vacuum switch between the EGR and the carb, does anyone know where the TVS goes? Does it screw into the intake manifold?

    choke..too much or too little

Old engines need time to warm up. My CJ runs like junk until the intake manifold warms up.

    EGR Valve?

Ok- A question for the smart old timers. Do I hook up the EGR valve to the new Weber Carb on my 258 or do I plug it up? I have read too many conflicting opinions. What have you guys done with your EGR Valves?

    Death Wobble Gone!

I am getting “death wobble” confused with being drunk… it happens time to time. I guess my jeep never had the death wobble, it just never wanted to stay on the road. The spring bushings are new, however I need to replace the tie rod ends and a left front wheel bearing- I imagine the...

    Death Wobble Gone!

I just finished installing an OEM CJ sway bar and some JKS quick disconnects on my 79CJ5. The Jeep almost drives like a safe car on the road. The death wobble has been reduced to a non-death wobble. I highly recommend a sway bar if you are scared of your jeep on the road. Mine never came with a...

    Wheel Spacers?

Hey.. Thanks for the input! In reply to the last post I have been told spacers improve on-road handling when used with narrow vehicles. I was just worried about the extra stresses they might place on the bearings… JP magazine seems to stand behind the modification. -Monkeyman

    Wheel Spacers?

Does anyone have experience with wheel spacers? What brands do you suggest? Do they trash your bearings? They would be going on a 79 CJ with narrow track axles. I want a little more width without buying new axles. Thanks…

    Carter BBD Idle mixture setting?

Try turning the idle mixture screws in until the Jeep almost dies then take them out one full turn, that is a pretty good start point. Make sure the engine is nice and warm.
