how to decide if I need a slave or master cylinder

Have you tried bleeding the system yet? If there are rubber boots, you might want to peel them back and see if they are wet on the inside. If you can't figure out which one it is, buy the cheapest part first. You might get lucky.

    89 YJ stalling problem

I would start by checking your electrical connections starting at the battery and work your way through the ignition system. Make sure that they are not corroded or loose.

    Water in parking lights/running lights

You could also take some dielectric grease and put it on thick around the base of the bulb and the contacts. This will help keep water out of the socket.

Water Apearing In passenger Side Floor?

I end up with water on both sides. On my YJ it is coming through at the top of the wing windows. Go to the car wash and have someone spray around the windows while you sit inside and you will see just exactly where the water is coming in at.

    Tuffy

I have the deluxe stereo console and two lock boxes with speaker grills on the fender wells. Love them both. The only issue that I have had is the nut on the lock assembly was backing off. I used some blue Loctite and that solved that problem. Ordered new lock & keys for the console so all...

    1991 YJ front brake problem

The caliper was probably dragging on the rotor and the pads overheated. You need to open the bleeder valve to relieve the pressure on the pads. If the caliper doesn't loosen up on its' own, take a dead blow hammer and smack the outside of the caliper. The pins that the caliper ride on are...

    electric impact wrenches

I have a craftsman electric corded impact gun. It works ok, but it is nothing like a pneumatic impact. If it is a portable compressor, get some high density closed cell foam and put it under the legs of the compressor. This will cut down on the vibration transmission. You could always leave...

CJ7 won't start after 6 months of not using it

ok, so when you remove a spark plug and reconnect it to the spark plug wire and hold the spark plug against the engine while someone tries to start the engine the spark plug sparks? Right? If it sparks, I can not imagine that it would be the ignition module. But you never know. Anything is...

CJ7 won't start after 6 months of not using it

If you are positive that the #1 piston was on a compression stroke when you lined up the timing marks and the rotor in the distibutor ended up pointing at the #1 tower on the distributor cap, I don't have a clue what could be wrong. If all of this is correct, it should start. If you remove...

CJ7 won't start after 6 months of not using it

Have you tried spraying gasoline into the carburetor while the engine is turning over? If the spark plugs are firing, then your engine should start when priming it this way. When you installed the distributor with the timing mark at TDC for the #1 cylinder, did you make sure that the...

    Alternator trouble

Sounds like an internal regulator issue. I would take it to a local rebuilder and have them check it out. It may cost less to have it fixed than replaced. I would also check your wire connections at the alternator. Make sure that they are tight and that none of the strands are broken.
