    The OFFICIAL Random thread

What surprised me is you don't have to have a knee cap. Several yrs ago my BiL fell and broke is knee cap in two. The first surgeon didn't do a good job, the cap was rebroke twice in rehab. On the 5th surgery they removed his knee cap and threw it away because of infection. His recovery after...

    Anyone else stuck at home?

Our grandson was the only one who's job was affected by covid. They shut down and he got a raise drawing unemployment. He is now back to work. All our kids kept working although masks and social distancing has been in effect.

2005 TJ - only speed 3 and 4 on my fan / AC

Before the blower motor went out on the XJ I used to have it would struggle to turn on the slow speeds but worked on high [or was it the other way around??] Anyway by the time it got bad enough to replace it would only run on one speed. Replacing the motor fixed it but your issue sounds different.

    Dashcam for a Wrangler

I didn't realize that, I was thinking it was weatherproof and could be mounted the same way

    Winter breaks

My 2010 jk is that way, the light goes on the first time the temps drop below freezing. That light is extra sensitive - it lights up if any of the tires drop below 34psi.

    Dashcam for a Wrangler

I installed a back up camera on my wife's Corolla. It installed just above the license plate and gives a good view of what's behind her car. The mount is adjustable so you can fine tune just what you want to see.

    Please help ASAP 76 cj5

Maybe it originally came from something different. 20 yrs ago that joint went bad on my 76 F100 4x4. Unable to find a suitable replacement I took a front axle end [pontiac?] and modified it to fit. Still works good today ;)

Got ducked for the first time today

That's a new one on me! I was thinking a real duck which reminded me of a goose walking up my mountain driveway yrs ago. It was preventing me from getting home. I'd ease up to it and bump it with the bumper of my XJ and it would fly 20' and go back to walking. We repeated this process all the...

    Considering New or Used Jeep

I have a 2 door jeep jk and it works for us but as noted the back seat isn't very accessible for adults. I prefer the looks and maneuverability of the shorter jeep. My wife would prefer a 4 door jeep for the rare times we have back seat passengers .... but we do have a four door car for most of...

Torque for heavy duty tierod ends for 1 1/16 castle nut

I think the torque is in the neighborhood of 40lbs although I'm more apt to tighten it by feel than bring out the torque ratchet.

NASCAR also utilizes the tear offs on their windshields but I've never heard of anyone using them on a street legal vehicle. post #9 made me grin

    81' CJ-7 Speedometer and Radio

I would think a vehicle that old would have a cable driven speedometer. Maybe it came loose behind the dash and knocked a wire loose affecting the radio ????

    Removing CJ wiper arms

While I'm not familiar with that particular model most just pry off although sometimes they can be stubborn. I'd try a block of wood and a pry bar. Those that know more should be along later.

    Jeep Wrangler AC buzzing noise

A piece of paper/trash was my first thought also. If that is the case the noise will be there with the fan on high even if the AC is turned off.
