    slobbering, stumbling carter

Ok. Got to thinking.(yes....scarey) Not that I may or may not have an intake leak, I've still got the dripping nozzles. Intake leak shouldn't have anything to do with that part of it. So, looks like I'm gonna have to take nozzles out again, and re-check and re-clean. All I can think of.

    slobbering, stumbling carter

My idle tubes are dripping fuel, causing my YJ to idle terrible. Thing is, this weekend I took it all apart, and the tubes are clean and clear. The only way I can keep it idleing, is to set it at around 1100 RPM. And it still idles eratically and stumbly. Under acceleration, the thing runs...

For you new to Jeepin' a little help for you.

Lol. Ya, I'm assuming they are around the 3.07.(had the jeep for about 2 weeks, and haven't gotten around to figuring it out yet) Thought about the v-8 change, but think I'm gonna pass on that one. At least for a while. In the mean time, on the lookout for some 4.10's or lower. So if ya know of...

For you new to Jeepin' a little help for you.

I realize it's all 'relative'. Just asking because the chart states it's for a I-6 with stock trans. That's what I got, but just saying, at 60 mph, 5th gear, I'm reving at a max of around 1500. Not that it makes a difference. I understand I can use the chart, using math. As far as the 80MPH...

That RPM chart. Is that engine RPM, at what speed? I'm asking, because I've got 31's, and to get 2163 RPM, I'd have to be going about 80! I don't think the YJ can run that fast! Lol.

    2150 changeover - Mr Gasket spacer # ?

I've done a search, and can't find my answer. I'm positive someone on here posted the Mr Gasket carb spacer part number, needed to change over from the carter, but I can't find it. Could someone let me know what it is? I need to get rid of the OE carb ASAP!!! Lol.

    MC2100 changeover

Ok. Sounds like I'll need to keep the computer. Probably won't change alternators, but the TFI upgrade is comming soon too.

    MC2100 changeover

So, when I get rid of OE carb, and install a motorcraft, can I get rid of the computer and it's wiring all together?

    what brand locker?

Awesome info guys. Thanx. Okay. Here's my new thought. Tell me if I'm nuts! I'm now kinda thinking of a cable OX in the rear, and an auto up front. Will the auto up front affect my steering on pavement and icy roads, or should I go for a manual locker up there too?

    what brand locker?

From what I've learned so far, I'm leaning towards cable. Simply because it seems simplest, least hassle, and fewer parts. The thought of having airlines running around underneith don't appeal to me. Although, cables may not be any better.(mud, rust, etc.) Pretty sure I don't want to go automatic.

    what brand locker?

Seems to be a few different brands of lockers out there. Just looking for opinions on whose might be better, and why. Also, having a hard time finding any 'canadian based' supplier and aftermarket websites.

    wiper improvement?

Any way to improve the windshield wipers on a '89 YJ? Mine go too slow, and not a very big sweep. Not sure if this is normal with these or not, as I haven't had it very long. But there isn't much difference between the two speeds(a little, but not much), and there's quite a bit more room for...

couple 'dumb' questions from a newbie

Ok, quite new to this Jeep thing. Just picked up an '89 YJ. Question 1 - I'd like to do a V-8 swap someday. But apparantly the rear axle won't hack it, but one from a '96ish Explorer will. My question is, it must be next to impossible to find an Exploder with 4:10 gears? I know a 350 would...
