Found a guy that has a set of 4" lift leaf springs for front and back. They came off a cj7 would they work on a cj5??? What's something to look for when buying used springs?

Have a 79' cj5 and I've seen from 1975-1979 jeep the 304cu lost nearly 60 hp. Y'all have any ideas of what I can do to create more HP? Think I'm gonna put on a set of headers. If I come across a set of heads, can you put 360amc heads On a 304(and is it worth it)? Thanks for the help......

Yes it was solid across the back. Where it would have been there was a lot of rust so I fog I could get rid of the rust and get a tailgate lol. Cutting wheel on a grinder made a clean cut. I think in 79' you had to get the silver anniversary addition to get a tailgate on a cj5. Thanks y'all...

Well I'm getting closer.... My ole cj5 didn't come from the factory with a tailgate. So I did some fab'n and bought an old beat up tailgate. It turned out purdy good! Had my buddy that does tats draw me a skull&crossbones on the hood for a lil Mad Max action. I can't wait to get this rig in the mud!

Would y'all give me some insight on brake lines. I'm replacing everything so is it hard to bend you own or is it best to spend the money and get the pre-bent ones? I can run conduit but is it kinda the same as far as bending it?

I looked last night on google "cj5 bolt kit" and yep there out there. For my 79' it's around $180. I'm s newbie at jeeps also, I've got mine in a bunch of pieces. Lol

Do you know if there is a bolt kit to use to put the body back together? It would make life easy.

Thanks, I'm putting a 4" on a 79 renegade. I'm leaving the 3 speed in it. Did you just rotate the rear end until you got a straight shot for the drive shaft. Brake lines are being replaced. Thanks for the info.

What kinda of problems have you run into installing the lift?

Do you know where I can buy some guide coat powder?

Did you have any luck finding a bolt kit???
