    Voltage regulator

all fuses and relays are good. gonna do a little more checking and may wind up just wireing in an external voltage regulator. not the way I wanted to fix the issue but i cant keep waiting around for shipping times.

    Voltage regulator

I finally got the pcm today, replaced it and still have the same problem. I read battery voltage all the way from the battery through the alternator and to the gauge. Am I missing something?

    roll bar

I'd like to get new padding for the cage...the original was just too far gone to clean so it wound up getting cut off. I've looked at a few places and dont understand why they all seem to skip 1991. They go to 1990, you have the obvious change in 92, and then in fine print is says "no kit...

    Voltage regulator

sorry, its a 91, plug and play...pulled the pcm out and took it apart, appears to be part of the mother board...Really? did chrysler think that they would never go bad?

    91 yj problems

Voltage regulator, which chrysler was kind enough to put in the pcm...and as I have found out it is part of the mother board so it is not a replaceable part. You have to change the pcm

    Voltage regulator

It appears that the voltage regulator is part of the pcm...really? not one of chryslers brightest ideas...Is this serviceable? or do I need to replace the pcm? I'm reading battery voltage from the alternator through the pcm and at the volt gage on the dash. Alternator is good (according to the...

    Engine swap

So a new (used) 2.5 is in and the jeep is running and on the road. It still needs alot of work, first and foremost being tires. Brakes and front end work wontt be too far behind. I'm going to need to replace the gas tank (leaks) and skid plate...it appearently had a stump put through (thus...

    Engine swap

The whole concept behind the 4.0 was that being a stock motor I was hopeing that it would go in with no headaches. It is also a stock motor so if something goes wrong a phone call to my parts supplier has the part in my hand in 20 minutes or so. I can see the guy behind the counter scratching...

    Engine swap

NO doubt its going to need a good going over but it seems to be in supriseingly good shape for a 20 year old vehicle. Im kind of looking at it as a restoreation project. Theres a few things that need to be changed, some wireing that looks like it was done by my four year old, some rather...

    Engine swap

Yeah...thats how i got the thing. The guy that had it appearently sunk it pretty good. It came to me on a flatbed with an explanation "I went through a bog and the thing just quit on me..." I drained 3 quarts of oil and about 4 gallons of water out of the pan and was unable to get the thing...

    Engine swap

Thanks, the responces are helpful. I'm looking to get this thing running with as little headache as possible before I decide if I'm going to keep it or not. I already have a line on a 2.5 but if the 4.0 would have gone in with no issues I would have gone that route. Still not sure what other...

    Engine swap

I'm new to the board and I recently aquired a 91 wrangler with a blown 2.5. The drive train is stock so I assume it has the ax5 transmission. I would like to put a 4.0 in to replace the 2.5 and was hopeing someone could tell me if the transmission would match up and what else would be needed...
