Not the choke it is the jet for the idle is becoming plugged if it is a carter 1 barrel . there is an article step by step how to fix this problem at jeeptech.com , also the more they reformulate gas the more people with carbs are going to have fun.

Yes the shims where on the backing plates from the factory, if not you should not need them axle will be right length. If your bearings are going bad sounds like they are being pressed on at an angle make sure they are straight (machine shop). Good luck

RE: non-jeep question for you electronics guys Sounds kind of like it is vapor locking, put 5 or 6 wooded cloth pins on the metal fuel line under the hood see if this helps.

I just put an ez locker in my amc 20 axles seem to have to much movement in and out is this normal , matter of fact right side will go in deep enough to rub back of brake drum in a left corner . When in installed put in all the factory shims like detroit said anyone every had this happen?
