my 73 cj5 is 5 on 5 1/2 and my old XJ was 5 on 5

doesnt look like the 65 steering column will work. its to long and the bottom is different set up unless i have it cut my U- joint welding to the end but i was thinking about tilt steering but dont want to spend 800 bucks on one but need to get the column out of mine cause its messed

ya its the stock 65 steering column and mine in the 73 is stock too but the 65 has a steering box on the end of the column and mine has u joints on it

i just picked up a column from a 65 cj5 because someone messed mine up and welded a steering wheel to it. so the question is will it bolt right in or will i have to do mods to it and if so what r the mods

ya i have adjusters but if i adjust them to far i get into a bind like before so thats why im thinking its a bad clutch

well do u happen to know how much movement is suppose to be on the fork cause i think there should be at least 2 to 3in i would say but im not sure

i want to but low on money and been buying parts once a week if that haha but it i get a longer rod to the fork it will bind up on the linkage to the pedal and will flex my body but thats why im thinking its a bad clutch but i guess i could get a buddy over and have him help me with it to see...

my clutch wasnt working right. had to start it in gear and as it started it would start driving. i pulled the body lift off and readjusted the clutch linkage and only have 1in movement on the fork and the pedal all the way up its at 7in and before the fork moves it goes to 41/2 then to 3 1/2 and...

is there any other forums out there that i can get answers please. really need help on my clutch but cant wait around need to figure it out by tomorrow. so if there r any other forums u guys use let me know or could someone help me out here

hi trying to figure out my 73 cj5 304 V8 with 3 speed. the clutch was done wrong cause of the body lift. i took it off and then unadjusted the adjuster from the frame to the trans to were everything is set right and readjusted it and now i have 3 1/2in of play in the pedal and my book says 1in...

MikeDumbNYC how far does ur fork move when clutch is being pushed.or is all the way to the floor cause even though i have the old school set up mine only moves 1in if that

my cj5 has that set up and it sounds sweet and all my neighbors told me it sounds sweet and there all older too

how much movement should be at the fork with everything adjusted right cause i only have 1in and it stops and wont move anymore

but i think i figured out my hole clutch deal. the tabs r off on the linkage so i have to try and fix it or buy a new one

ya its the dana 300 with the texas bolt pattern

hi stumpbumper well the axles dont have the same gears the front keeps losing the front drive line and the transfer is a dana 300 and i already have that brake set up
