We got our '99 for $7800 and stole it, it had roughly the same miles 4cyl automatic soft top & 1/2 doors 30's The engine swap would be a pain, I'm sure you could sell that one if you really wanted too & get a decent price. The choice is still up to you but I sure wouldn't want to mess with it...

I found out painless makes a CJ wiring harness : http://www.painlessperformance.com/webcatalog/cat-jeepharn.htm#10142 They're like Bestop though you have to buy through a dealer :roll:

Is the temp gauge correct? :? Did someone put a temp cutoff switch in there? (my Dad's '87 subaru had one) May be a shot in the dark but trying to help

I have to agree, cost wise you would be money ahead. This would be different if you were rebuilding an old CJ or military one

My Fiance' has a '99 TJ & she loves it, The bouncy ride in my YJ is a little much for her. 4cyl does her okay (saves my insurance bill from tickets) :wink:
