Which Rancho shocks? In my experience, the Rancho 5000s are too stiff on a Jeep for my liking. I like a little softer shock. You will never get a Jeep to ride like a Suburban, but can keep it from riding like a unsprung trailer.

My suggestion would be a Holley 350 cfm two barrell. I put one on my 83 CJ7 and I love it. It was an easy install with an adapter plate. The Holley is also easy to tune. I have changed out jets a few times and even swapped in a different power valve to maximize fuel economy. I now get close...
