    What Size Winch????

Most of my wheeling occurs in the mud, but sometimes it is in the rocks. Most of my wheeling occurs while hunting.....thus my screen name. The reason I want a winch is sometimes I am hunting alone or at least I might have the only 4WD vehicle. If I get stuck there is nobody to pull me out...

    What Size Winch????

There have been a couple of threads in the last week concerning winches. What does everyone think is a good size for a winch for a Jeep (CJ, YJ, or TJ)? I don't want to end up with a winch that is too small, but I don't want to spend more money than needed or have any extra weight on the front...

I just enjoy solving the math problems. It's funny I never enjoyed math in school but love this type of problem solving math now.

    FYI

With a 0.828 6th and a 4.11 rear end and a 4.0 transfer case that yeildes a ratio of 13.612:1. At 1500rpm or 90,000 revs per hour that would yeild 6611.8 wheel revolutions per hour. With a tire size of 245/75/R16 (standard tire size on a Rubicon) that would equal a tire diameter of 30.47...

    FYI

From some things that I have seen, the six speed will be only standard transmission for Jeep Wranglers in 2006. Here are the gear ratios: 1- 5.014:1 2- 2.831:1 3- 1.789:1 4- 1.256:1 5- 1.000:1 6- 0.828:1 Reverse 4.569:1 With a 4:1 transfer case in 4 lo and 4.11 gears that yeilds a...

    Moment of Silence Please

I do miss him. I guess that I am one of the luckiest ones here in that I had the chance to meet and wheel with him. He was so nice. He really encouraged me to come out and wheel with him. When we went, he went out of his way to show me a good time. He taught me and was patient as I learned...

    Today is 1 year

We will never forget Josh. I only got to wheel with Josh one time, but it has left an impression that will last a lifetime. How's the YJ coming. You have to get it back together so we can go wheel.

Can you snap a picture of it? I have a 83 CJ7 and could compare it to mine and see if I know what it is.

    TJ Spacers

Do the spacers have any effect on the ride quality. I plan on buying a Rubicon when my wife graduates from nursing school and would like to give it a little lift without sacrificing any ride quality in my daily driver.

    it's all coming back....

4.0s in the 1/4......that's fast. He should check into taking that thing to a NHRA event seeing as how the Top fuel record is 4.44 and the Top fuel funny car record is 4.71 and the Pro stock record is 6.67....I know some guys who run pro-mods (a stretched wheelbase pro stock whith a top fuel...

    Any Advice?

Which Rancho shocks? In my experience, the Rancho 5000s are too stiff on a Jeep for my liking. I like a little softer shock. You will never get a Jeep to ride like a Suburban, but can keep it from riding like a unsprung trailer.

2005 jeep models, no sahara, check it out.

I think I will like the new 6 speed.....I did some math and in a Rubicon I came up with a crawl speed: With a 5.014 1st and a 4.11 rear end and a 4.0 transfer case that yeilded a crawl ratio of 82.43. At 700rpm or 42,000 revs per hour that would yeild 509.52 wheel revolutions per hour. With a...

    easiest carb

My suggestion would be a Holley 350 cfm two barrell. I put one on my 83 CJ7 and I love it. It was an easy install with an adapter plate. The Holley is also easy to tune. I have changed out jets a few times and even swapped in a different power valve to maximize fuel economy. I now get close...
