I don't exactly live in the sticks but Im not near the city either. I have only locked the doors on my Jeep 4 times in the 7 months I have owned it. You guessed it trips into the city. Anyway I have never had anything stolen and I have $450 worth of ham radio equiptment mounted in it. I...

The old saying still holds true. "The only thing a lock does is keep an honest man honest" If they want it bad enough nothing you can do will stop them[addsig]

Depends on what you want and how much you intend to use it. You can get a very basic cheapy that will do the job for around $30 or if ya want all the bells and whistles you could spend as much as a few hundred. If your really only going to use it on the trail or just in emergency use...

I was wondering myself if it might not be a bad idea to use marine grease in the joints since it should hold up better to water. Anyone have any ideas on this?[addsig]

Yes it is possible to overshoot another station by running too much power and yes it is very illegal. Do yourself and everyone else a favor and stay legal, you don't need a couple hundred watts to talk across town. Yes also a radio can bleed into a stereo. Its real bad with amps but...

Sounds like it could be the throw out bearing. Not sure of what it would cost to replace, but considering it was bought 2 weeks ago if it was from a dealer I'd look into seeing if there was a warranty on it or see if the dealer is nice enough to eat the cost. If it was bought from a...

I agree with you Tug. What makes me even sicker is the 2 or 3 Rubicon's I always see running around here and have yet to see one of them dirty. :-(

As Dingus was saying tirerack.com. I have bought tires from them in the past and got good prices. Shipping doesn't cost me a fortune from them since I only live about 15 miles from one of their warehouses :-) [addsig]

I used to always love the old scouts. A friend of mine runs a body shop and a few years ago he had one in his shop that the owner was restoring. Thats where I first got a really good look at one and after that I always wanted one. As far as trackers go... my soon to be ex. father in...

Great story Tug. I kinda know a little of the feeling. The zipper is messed up on the rear window of my soft top so I can't close it. On days like today when it is raining, I get a fine mist that blows in through the back. I wind up being a little damp but I don't mind it at all...
