    Bench Bleeding

As soon as you described it with the I.V. description, I picked up on it right away. Very good description Mike. I'll give it a shot here in a day or three (gonna rain). Thanks once again, Brad

    Bench Bleeding

Ok....just about got the bracket built for the clutch slave cylinder on the Willys. Problem: In the course of all the fabbing I pumped the clutch master and pushed the piston out of the slave. I see how it goes back together, but now I have to re-prime the system. How do I go about bench...

Finishing what I started (55 Willys truck)

OK...back on track. Got the brake booster, master cylinder, hydraulic clutch master, and brake/clutch pedals worked out this weekend. Kind of a pain fabbing it all into a vehicle that had no provisions for it to start with. The rolling doghouse turned into pain for clearances, but made for...

Proper way to dispose of gasoline?

I heard a guy of on of the forums once say "Put it in an old gas can you don't want, and leave it next to the drive. Some punks gonna steal it, and learn a lesson as well."

    New Vaccum Source Needed

It's for a brake booster for the Willys. The old system worked, but that was about it. I figure I'd up-grade and be done with it. The vaccum advance is hooked up already to the correct port you spoke of. I've got a 3/8's plug in the rear of the intake now. I assume this is ok to draw a...

    New Vaccum Source Needed

Ok..... Willys truck has a Holley single vac. 650. I just (today) got a new power brake setup installed (that sucked, but fun). PROBLEM: I need anouther vaccum source. I have on pipe plug in my intake. Am I right in thinking that I can pick up a vaccum source from there? I assume ANYTHING on the...

    recovery

IMO....ANYTHING.....no matter what it is, towing strap or recovery strap, is better than a chain. What ever you use, make sure it is not a chain. If it is straps of sorts, make sure to stay clear of hooks, and don't rig up to recievers (Reese Hitch). Throw a floor mat or two (hence Glenn...

Poll on first thing to buy for a new Jeep

Wait 'til the tires are about shot......in the mean time save your extra cash. 20,000 mile into it and you got enough saved for the lift and tires all in one shot. Until then, you'll just have to deal with one sweeeeet stock ride. I bet you won't mind.

    engine tries to die

My first guess would be a vaccum leak. Get some starting fluid and spritz around here and there following ALL vac. lines with the engine running. If you hear the rpm's pick up, investigate that area further. Other possibilty could be a dirty throttle body. Maybe someone else has some thoughts.

Jeep won't start- In need of help

Hey...wait, wait. If you tried popping the clutch at too low of a gear, and too great of a speed, the tires are in fact gonna squeal. Do yourself a favor, and put a 1/2" ratchet and socket onto the crank pulley as described above. It can't hurt anything, and may lead to good news. And when...

    Stupid Noob Soft Top Question

Just razzin' ya JPNinPA. I also see this. Just forget about it goldtj. It's a Jeep thang. You'll soon understand. That things gonna flap around, make alot of noise, pi$$ you off when a good song is on. Get used to it or: #1 run naked or #2 stick with the hard top.

Finishing what I started (55 Willys truck)

What??? I never knew of this. Send me some details please. How can something this good happen 5 miles north of me and not know it? I kinda wonder if I might know you or have bumped into you. I thought everyone of Martinsville knew each other anyways. You got a name?? PM me. Later, Brad

    Another vibration

My exhaust vibrates when running down the road, I can push in on the clutch at 60 mph. and it disappears completly. Man, on a Jeep it could be a number of things. I doubt your front shift motor has anything to do with it, and axle warp shouldn't be a problem just driving down the road. Keep...

Finishing what I started (55 Willys truck)

Oh, Vlad. Your just north of me man! I'm down about 5 miles north of Martinsville (Henderson Ford Rd.) What's that about 15 minutes away? Dang, I've been looking for someone close to wheel with. Maybe we can hook up sometime. You know any good spots other than the usual "pay parks" that...

Finishing what I started (55 Willys truck)

10-4 Johnny. I didn't take any offence at all. I just wondered what you were digging at. Actually the axle choices were made for financial reasons, and the fact that I had no idea of what I needed at the time. The neighbor who I bought the truck from had them laying around, so they were cheap...

    Hello

Nice ride. Looks like it already has a good start. Leave that swaybar off. Or put it on, drive it, and feel the difference. The rear one doesn't change the handling all that much. I've run with my fronts disconnected for weeks at a time. Most of the time I forget they're disconnected until...
