I am not sure if our jeeps are equipped with them, but see if the break switch is working properly. Also, don't forget to check the bulbs. Replace them and get that out of the way.-al

Definetely take it to several shops. Don;t thell the second shop what the first shop told you. Wow, that is a lot of money. Try too find a used transmission. That will save you some $$$.
