    AMC 360 Build/Rebuild

To start with this will not be a quick rebuild, I already have a 302 in the machine shop. The motor lost a bearing on main while I was out a couple weeks ago, and I now have come up with the time to start the removal. The pics below are as it sits right now, I will keep posting pics as we get...

    Motor help

Yes the 302 is still a go, the machine shop has the block and I am still sourcing internals for it. I will tear into the 360 next weekend to see what damage there is and decide what to do from there. Once I get the parts sourced and the block back i will start posting pics.

    Motor help

For all the AMC proficient individuals out there. I believe I spun a bearing on Sunday, have a very loud tick now, motor runs but not well, it did get me home tho! Got stuck in a hole and while rocking back and forth to get unstuck started ticking/knocking. I am going to do a stock rebuild, what...

    Bench seat removal

Is it water? I thought they used some type of oil. It is also surrounded be a piece of plastic or wood that is flat on both sides. In my HO I think it would be easier to remove the entire seat so you can have a clean look at the underside to determine what you need to do to repair/replace the...

Things that **** Me Off (an ongoing thread)

Jps, great insight, I must rephrase. I will be judged by two people. (but in the end, the opinion of one is the one that matters) and no, that one is not my wife... Lol

Jps, I couldn't agree more. Religion/faith whatever you would like to call it to me is a personal matter between you and ur god. I cannot stand having a judgmental person telling me my sins, I will have my life judged by one person and one person only.

    Pinion leak

Alright, good news. Found a bad brake spring in the right rear drum, replaced the brake kit and now she rolls fine. Removed the old pinion seal and installed the new one, filled up with new oil and she seems to be back on the road. Thank you, To all who offered advice.

Absolutely, love the phone, hate the spell check. I feel like a buffoon after sending responses if I don't check it myself first.

    Pinion leak

Ok, driveshaft disconnected, tires off the ground, e brake not engaged. I still can barely turn the tires, something is definitely wrong internally. Can anybody tell me what size the torx head is on an AMC 20? I will be removing the rear end tomorrow. Once I get the poking cover off I will get...

    Rhino Liner or DIY

    CJ7 steering to easy?

In my 82 the steering is also loose, I need to replace the steering rod end, steering stabilizer and more than likely the ball joints. It could also be the steering box getting sloppy. I would recommend checking all components of the steering system for wear and damage, replace the bad parts and...
