    2.5 vs. 4.0

Yeah right I sould. Gotta get a real lift first and toss this BB. O still looking for more power. I am debating a electric fan?

    2.5 vs. 4.0

Yeah you got that right. I would like to get a winch, but what am I gonna do lug it around and use it 2, 3, 6 times per year. I am just gonna get me a heavy duty comalong by weyth. Also as far as my front bumper I just bobbed it, meaning cut the factory front bumper with angled ends, just about...

    2.5 vs. 4.0

Yeah somthing like that. I also try to keep wind drag down. Such as round tube bumper instead of flat. Smaller size fog lights up front and tilted licenses plate. Trying to squeeze every bit. Works for me. Also trying to decide on which rock sliders I will use, body mount or frame mount. Some...

    2.5 vs. 4.0

Yea I am telling you my jeep keeps up with a stock 4.0L on highway. Keep in mind I also keep my wieght down to a minimum. You know the power to wieght ratio. To add to this I insulate my cold air coming in. I am getting ambient air from outside the engine bay. There is another formula for every...

    2.5 vs. 4.0

I have a 97 TJ and it does have some performance mods under the hood, cold air intake, insulated air tube, 4.0L throttle body swap, custom throttle body spacer, bored out intake manifold, accel coil, accel 8mm wires, NGK plugs gapped at .037, magnaflow muffler, free flow catback. Factory 2.5L...

    Affordable-horse power,torque,mpg

We carry throttle body spacers that OUTPERFORM the competition. Finally one that makes a difference you can feel. Our POWER SPACERS have a smooth bore for smooth air transitions, giving you a smooth increase in throttle response. This patent design also carrys VELOCITY AIR BLADES in the center...

Do throttle body spacers really work?

Thanks Bounty Hunter I will stay away from the throttle plate just a bit. Do I bore out the top side also or just the bottom? I was gonna get a TB from you, but this one kinda just fell in my lap for little to nothing. Thanks

Do throttle body spacers really work?

While cruising at those speeds of 75, 80mph my RPMs are at 3,000. I guess I am gonna bore out that edge just below the throttle plate.

Do throttle body spacers really work?

I have heard storys that you can loose torque at higher RPMs, how does your jeep respond on freeway. Does your speed still climb upward lets say if you are doing 60MPH. Right now my jeep does take off alot faster and gets up to 70MPH with no problem. If I hit a headwind along with going up hill...

Do throttle body spacers really work?

Yeah I did notice that taper just under the throttle plate. My concern is if I remove it will I loose torque. I sure like the way it feels now, and I do not want to regret it. Do you think I will loose torque? Its only a 2.5L

Do throttle body spacers really work?

Wow what a difference, I yesterday just did the 4.0L Throttle body swap and let me tell you what a great addition to my TBS and cold air intake and every thing else. Zoom Zoom. Instant throttle response, smooth, reaching higher speeds quicker. I can do 80 MPH on Highway and hold 70 up hill with...

Do throttle body spacers really work?

Thats right you are not going to get all the horse power you want from one mod, it all adds up 5HP there, 3Hp here, 10 somewhere else. If you did it all at once you would feel a nite and day difference. One mod at a time can be hard to feel sometimes.

Do throttle body spacers really work?

I have a degree in experience through trail and error. I am a mad scientist, You should see my labatory. Hey guys think old school, remember high rise manifolds and mid rise manifolds, along with longer runners and such. Well one thing they got right is smooth and larger plenums and intake...

    Stumbling Still.......

Its funny. No not funny. My 97 wrangler with a 2.5L was also stumbling real bad, more so when it first would take off until it warmed up. Then it would stumble entermitted. I also changed the throttle position sensor, new cap and rotor. cleaned throttle body and checked all plugs and wires. I...

    2.5L performance?

Sounds good, Hey are the screws the same in both the 2.5L and the 4.0L IAC housing?
  16. quicksand97

    2.5L performance?

Should I be prepared to make my own gasket if it is brittle. O yeah how would I remove those funny looking torx screws?
  17. quicksand97

    2.5L performance?

Hey would I need some type of sealer or something when swapping out that housing for the IAC, from a 2.5L to the 4.0L TB.?
  18. quicksand97

    2.5L performance?

Ok I will remember that. Thanks a bunch for clarifying.

    2.5L performance?

To Bounty Hunter when I swap from a 2.5L TB to a 4.0L TB I believe I need to put all the 2.5L sensors on to the 4.0L. Correct me if I am wrong. My main question is on the IAC do I need to swap that housing that it mounts to or just the Idle Air Control sensor only? And of course all other...

    2.5L performance?

There is a write up somewhere where someone did a swap to a 2.4L DOHC but I believe it was a jeep engine. I think it was somewhere in off-road magazine of 4wheel offroad mag. It was pretty much a clean swap as far as engine swaps go. It is about a 30% more increase in horse power just stock...
