    Season Break

We're into the "split" which is a two week break in the waterfowl season here in TX. Hunting resumes again on Dec 12th. Was a little slower than normal due to unseasonably mild weather up North this fall. We still had a couple good mornings like this ... Going to the 31-10.50-15s mud...

    Light Covers

The only thing on our Wrangler that seems to spook ducks are the rear light lenses and license plate. Even in moderate light conditions they tend to "shine". In sunlight they are beacons. So Mama made three covers from some camo material and it works like a charm.

Ever Been to an Off-Road Tire Circle-Jerk?

Wasn't the best opening morning we've ever had but we got five ducks by 9 a.m. when it was all over. Jeep performed flawlessly through the mush back to our hunting spot. Only took three of the four dawgs this morning. The gal giving me a kiss talked me into a hunt with just the two us...

Ever Been to an Off-Road Tire Circle-Jerk?

Well ... we got the five tires and five wheels today. Got them installed with a slight problem, The dealer's mechanic buggered the thread on 2 studs so bad that they couldn't be chased back down with a die set. So I'm driving two of the wheels with 4 studs only. I have to take them back next...

Ever Been to an Off-Road Tire Circle-Jerk?

Ummm ... $700 div by 5 = $140 ea less 8% tax = $129 ea + balance and mount? Where would you have done that? The best price I found anywhere was $157 for the KMs and that doesn't include tax, balance and install. tires-easy.com - Details: BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM 31x10.50 R15 109Q 6PR RWL

Ever Been to an Off-Road Tire Circle-Jerk?

He he ... well, since I am a 68 year old former Deer and Elk hunter (killed my share) I now find that sitting in a comfortable duck blind with my wife and two yellar dawgs is much more to our liking and diminished abilities. Alas ... Father Time is the great equalizer on jeeps and people both...

Ever Been to an Off-Road Tire Circle-Jerk?

There was no dispute about the price quoted. Ken, the owner of the local tire service for 25+ years here, completely agrees that he quoted me the BFG Mud Terrain T/A KMs. He doesn't dispute it at all. In fact, he still had the info on his quote pad from the day he did it for me and recalled...

Ever Been to an Off-Road Tire Circle-Jerk?

ST ... We live in a rural area, 11 miles from the closes town that has a population of under 10,000 and declining like most rural small towns are. We do our best to try to support the local businesses that are struggling. Most of the things we buy in Dallas or on the net are simply not...

Ever Been to an Off-Road Tire Circle-Jerk?

Just got home from one! You may have seen this topic ( http://www.jeepz.com/forum/cj-yj-tj-jk/27562-airing-up-while-off-road.html ) where I broke down and ordered a set of 5 Goodrich 31X10.50-15 T/A KM Mudders. They were promised to be in town from Dallas 90 miles away by noon...

Be happy to do so. When I get back home with them installed, I'll post a pic along with the stock number.

    Airing UP While Off-road?

I may have misled you. BFG didn't discontinue the size, just that particular stock number. The replacement (which I couldn't see but the slightest tread pattern difference in) is now $30 higher in MSLP. There were 22 additional of the "discontinued" style in the Carrolton TX warehouse after...

    Airing UP While Off-road?

Thanks for the responses. I bought one of these this afternoon ... I also have five of these 31X10.50-15s 6 ply coming here tomorrow from Dallas. BFG discontinued this particular model and I got them on a close out for $600 total including freight and tax. Kinda blows my Christmas...

What are these really worth set of 4

From the Seller: "I went out and measured the wheels and tires. The tires are 11" from sidewall to sidewall, and about a 9" or 10" of tread width. They measure 4" from the back of the mounting plate to the outside of the rim. The front is about 6" or 8" from the rim to the mounting plate.They...

    Airing UP While Off-road?

I'm ordering new 31X10.50-15 Goodrich mudders for my '06 TJ Unlimited but won't see them for a few weeks. With all the continuing rain here in N TX, I'm having to drop down to 15 psi in my 30X9.50-15 Goodyear ATs to get through some sloshy areas on the way to our duck hunting ponds. I'd like to...

    Need Suggestions, Please

Main reason is I put on less than 2,500 miles/year on that Jeep, 75% of which is on our property running through pastures and over 7-1/2 acres of lawn to feed critters. I'd rather change tires and keep my cost to an absolute minimum but be able to put the factory tires back on for longer road...
