    setting the timing

I have a pretty good idea of what the kid did with this cj I was once young with a 4 buy in the woods. The trany I will make small adjustments at a time. Im going to put on a new front pipe and see how it sounds and take it from there. As of right now I don't have much time to work on it. But...

    setting the timing

The pipe mates up to the manifold. I think what happens as the pipe gets old it gets thinner and starts to leak. Either way its time for some new exhaust parts its getting loud. I also have to adjust my shifter kick down linkage I want it to drop down into second gear sooner when I start up a...

    6cyl 258

Its 3/8 Try to run as much hard line as you can. Rubber line from sending unit to hard line up to fuel pump. The rubber line can start to deteriorate after time it is easier to replace small sections if you have to. Also I have had rubber lines balloon out after aging.

    automatic shift lever

Got the trany detent lever welded this morning and spent the rest of the day putting it all back together. So far everything seems to be back to the way it should be. Not bad getting this thing apart and repaired in two days. Knock on wood.

    automatic shift lever

Found the problem with trany. The detent ball bearing was in the bottom of the pan. A common problem with tf999 after wear and tear the detent lever to the shaft starts to wear making the lever not tight and square on the shaft. Also were the detent spring and ball bearing slides into valve...

    automatic shift lever

That sound good not having to drop the valve body. I think that the skid plate holds everything up under there. Right now im working on restoring one of the hard doors but I think ill set this aside and look into the trany. I do have a good friend that is also a gearhead and has some experience...

    automatic shift lever

Your welcome Greg. I think the next thing to work on is the trany detent issue but that is gona mean dropping the pan. That's a job I have to sike myself up for but either way its something that has to be done. I am basically saving this cj7 but I try to make it a hobby that makes it more fun.

    automatic shift lever

It was like Christmas today adapter plate came. I had to do some modifications using my die grinder with carbide cutting tools. Also had to use the stock spacer with the adapter plate in order to keep the throttle blades from hitting the manifold. So now its like a mini high rise. Tomorrow I...
