dang those adapter plates took a whole lot of sanding to get flat. they were brand new from redline too. i couldnt believe it. no wonder i was having air leak problems. i took a piece of glass and put a piece of 100 grit on there and went to sanding.45 min later i was done. had to do both sides...

well i was looking at the shift mechanism and it has the posi lock cable so i dont think i can flip it cause of the cable coming in on the drivers side. i was just gonna pin it but cant find out any info on it. i think i can just get a long bolt and a couple nuts and rig it up. any suggestions?

has anyone ever pinned the shift fork in the engaged position on a vacumm disconnect dana 30? i heard about it somewhere and cant seem to find it again. i have tj shafts to put in it i just dont want put them in until i need to. i have the posi lock cable already but i dont like that junk either...

ive got a 32/36 weber on my 88 258 i6 and hate it. i wish i could afford a truck avenger.

my 88 yj with the 258 wont start when the outside temp is below 45 or so but if its warm outside it fires right up and runs fine. i took the carb off and found a few air leaks between spacers for the weber carb conversion and im pretty sure thats what the problem is. my parts should be here this...

none unless somethings wrong with the front end or transmission. i drove home about 20 miles on one front axle 2 years ago. i broke both rear axles and the front driverside axle but had a locker in front so i put it in 4 high and came on back.

well i finally pulled my front end apart and nothing is broken. it looks like maybe the sliding collar wasnt engaging both axles all the way. the only thing that even looks close to being messed up is the very end of the collar it looks like it might have been slightly engaged and worked back...

i dont know for sure. it sounds like its in the longside of the axle though is the only reason i say that.

i just took my carb off and found some messed up adapter plate gaskets that were causing major vaccum leaks. does anybody know a good site to order replacement gaskets? the carb place in town is closed.

i think its the little sliding collar piece because like you said the axleshafts are decent there and i was in 4 wheel drive going up a hill, fell in a rut and when i goosed it to get out it snapped and the front tires stopped going.
