    Leaky diff, bad gas mileage...things...

I'll take a look at the e-brake. I never even thought about that... As for the diff vent, I looked, and couldn't figure out where it was. I am in the middle of packing right now and don't have access to my Chiltons. Where does it connect? The only lines I saw were the brake lines, so...

    AC recharge

Hey all. I did have one more question for the day... I need to recharge my AC. I was thinking about getting one of those do it yourself kits that you just screw on and pull the trigger until it gets to the right position. Has anyone ever used one of those before, or is there a better way?

    Leaky diff, bad gas mileage...things...

Hello ladies and gents of the Jeep world. Quick issue here. This has been going on for a while now. My rear differential is very leaky. Fluid everywhere, but I can't see anything leaking from the seal. Enough is coming out that I can get drops on my finger if I touch it. Also it seems like...

Jeep's hitting middle age. What should I do?

So, it's come to that time in Jeep's life. Rolled over 100K about a month ago. Still passing emissions just fine, no issues there. What i have been noticing though is that it just seems to be getting weaker. Losing some fuel mileage, and it seems to be working harder than it did. I'm...

    Really Leaky Diff.

Hey ladies and gents. So this has been going on for a while here. Last fall, after doing some good wheeling and coming back home, I looked and realized that my rear diff looks like it's leaking really bad. I took it in for a tune up because I had to go through emission testing, and had them...

    Whirring/Whining sound

So I checked, and it does not pull when braking. Other than normal veer off when on a slanted road, it seems to head pretty straight. Also even when just rolling down the street, it seems pretty straight.

    Whirring/Whining sound

I don't THINK that it has antilock brakes on it. I don't recall ever seeing an ABS light on the dash...I'll double check. I don't think that anti lock were standard on it, but an option. Not really sure. The brake pedal isn't really "hard". It feels normal, just seems to need more pressure...

    Whirring/Whining sound

I had the brakes replaced not too long ago. I think that they may be glazed or something, because it's really hard to get them to lock up. Really have to stand on it. Even tonight with wet roads, really had to lay into them to lock up (just testing of course...). I was at one point worried...

    Whirring/Whining sound

Hey ladies and gents. Long time no talk. Hope everyone is doing fine. Here's my question: 2000 XJ. There is a whirring/whining sound that comes from my front end sometimes. Not always, but a pretty good percentage of the time. It gets faster/slower sounding as the speed goes up and...

    XJ frame confusion...

Well, as it turns out, My wife the other day backed out with her Sebring, and somehow caugt my bumper with hers, and ripped it off. Not the metal part, but all of the plastic parts and air dam and everything. No way that it's gonna fit back on without replacing everything. So I figure that I...

    XJ frame confusion...

Yeah. I was actually going to get that kit at one point, and have put it off. I was just a little confused. Even mounting straight onto the unibody frame with the mounting brackets, they should still be pretty strong I would think.

    XJ frame confusion...

So I am a little confused here. I know that the XJ is a unibody. I called 4wheel parts today, to see if they sold tow hooks, and he said that you can't mount them on an XJ. He said that the frame that you would mount them to was just thin sheet metal. That didn't make a lot of sense to me...

    Locker info

So, in people's opinions, are lockers something that I need? I have never yet had a problem in getting out of something that I have driven into. Should I be looking at lockers only if I am thinking of more hardcore offroading, or are they really all that needed in the first place?

    Locker info

So I have been told that lockers at this point would be about the best thing I could put on my 2000 XJ for increased offroad performance. I am not knowledgeable about them in the least, and was wondering if someone could kind of explain what I am looking at, what they do, and all that good...

    90 XJ running hot

Yeah ramps would work very well. You really don't need to much of an incline, just enough to get the air moving. Gravity will take care of the rest...

Those inline motors are generally very reliable. Get quite a lot of miles out of them.
