    Heater issue

So, I got the resistor in the mail, and put it in. That was easy. Did a little maintenance as well. Turned everything on, started the jeep up, and....Nothing. Heater didn't come on. So I figured it must be the blower motor needing to be replaced. Then on my way to work this morning, in 30...

    The OFFICIAL Random thread

Just wanted to let everyone know (in case you weren't aware or lived somewhere like Tahiti...) that it's COLD.

    Winch capacity

Well it's a moderately standard '00 Cherokee. I figured 9K would be fine, but I wanted to run it past people to hear some second opinions first.

    Clean engine?

Well I'll see what I can find then. I have to make a quick stop at the parts store today for some oil and what-not, so maybe I'll try it out this weekend. Busy weekend, but I think Monday has "Jeep Working Day" written all over it. Gotta be all fixed and ready for when the ice from winter...

    Winch capacity

Hey peeps! I am planning on getting a new bumper for the front end, and was wondering what kind of weight capacity you have for your winches. I have one sitting at the parents house right now that's a 9000lb ready to bolt on if that would be enough. Otherwise it'll be just one more expense in...

    Clean engine?

When you say "wash off", are you talking about with a hose? Regular water? Do you need to cover your alternator or anything? I would imagine pull the battery? I haven't done that before, so just want to make sure I don't do something dumb... Just want to clean up a bunch before really...

    Clean engine?

What's up everyone? Just wondering if anyone has cleaned their engine before. I was thinking of trying to make it a little cleaner because I am going to replace a few things in there, and was hoping to not be wallowing around in a completely greasy, grimy mess. No big deal if it is I suppose...

    Gas mileage

I had been getting in the 18-19 range in city, but I'm pretty sure I'm lower than that now. Need to do a bit of maintainance to bring that back.

    Heater issue

Ok, so now I know how to tear the dash apart to get to the resistor, but realized that after I got in there I had no real idea of how to tell if the resistor had gone bad or not. That's what I call planning ahead. Getting that kick plate off was a real pain in the ...! Is there any way to...

    Heater issue

I will check the fuses, but none of the speeds work. If they do come on it's totally random, and it could be any of the speeds. It doesn't matter what speed I have it set on. 98% of the time there is nothing, and then once in a long while it'll suddenly blow for a few seconds, then shut back...

    Heater issue

Doing a bit of research here, and it looks like it may just be the blower motor resistor. Anyone have any experience in changing these? I may order one and toss it in and see what happens...

    I will do that. It's a 2000 Cherokee

    Heater issue

So I have a non-working heater right now. Or at least the blower part of it. Everything still heats up like normal, but I have no fan action. Once in a while it will just randomly kick on and blow for a couple minutes, then shuts back off. Any thoughts on this? Since it's now essentially...

    oil sender?

So I have checked a few times just to make sure, and there is definitely oil in it. It's full on the dipstick. I opened the filler cap this morning, and wiped it to make sure it was totally dry, and then I am going to look in a bit to make sure it's got some on it now. I would imagine that...

    oil sender?

So my 2000 xj got its oil changed on Friday. I did it, and know I put oil in the right place and the right amount. Afterwards my oil pressure fluctuated and at idle would drop to zero. As soon as I gave it gas it would come up to about 30. Now it dropped down and hasn't come back. Runs nicely...

    Where to order parts?

So this last weekend, I tore apart my rear diff and made things better. I could feel the difference immediately. Good times. So, my question is: I'm looking to start picking up some protection pieces and stuff like that, but don't know where to order from. Looking at things like...

    Leaky diff, bad gas mileage...things...

Also, one other thought... When I get under there and look at the e-brake, and find that it IS dragging, what kind of surgery am I looking at to back it off. I've never had to back one off. My cars before always had those auto adjusting brakes that you just pulled up on thhe lever a few...

    Leaky diff, bad gas mileage...things...

So, if I don't have an actual vent line coming off, am I supposed to try to blow into it (as in try to blow into the diff)? Would the fitting, if there's no vent line, look like the lube fittings? Or just a little hole? Just not sure what I'm looking for here...
