Just wanted to make a little introduction. I got my first and so far only Jeep a year ago - a 95 YJ Rio Grande with a very thick file of of mental and physical abuse by previous owner(s). :x But lucky for the poor guy we found each other :) and so it started :)

I'm interested in follow up. ... The concern that I have is pretty simple - the rear door hinges can carry only so much and that's also an added stress on the lock mechanism. How are they doing so far? I can see how it can be easily done with custom bumper application where weight of the tire...

+1 The older the jeep the higher chances of response. I try to wave back but sometimes either situation doesn't allow or I see them too late but in any case try to do my best (even JK's :) )

Not sure about cj5 but we just finished swapping motors and drive train on cj7 with yj's 4.0 direct port. Well unless you're sure that nothing will change in your driveline and transmission you might be able to do the swap if done by you (meaning no labor charges) otherwise you're looking at...
