Random sound like contact with spinning object

If at all possible, if you could capture this sound on a video and post it. would help, Couple questions. does feel of your braking change?and how is the oil pressure gauge looking, normal or low? Battery Voltage gauge? Pretty much anything that feels/does abnormal, other than the sound. It is...

Random sound like contact with spinning object

When you say "sound not impacted" by ect....Does this mean it doesn't make it worse, meaning it's constant or when it starts happening ? To add to last question greg92jeepxj had, Is it constant from start of motor? or an intermittent "high pitch whining?" Does it get better worse when engine...

Replaced Fan Clutch now won't start

Old wiring in an old jeep, I would maybe inspect wiring/ harness/contacts as well. Maybe you'll notice something loose. Are you getting power to/from either side of coil? And if you are, power through plug wires? And check plug wires for continuity too

Replaced Fan Clutch now won't start

Are you getting spark after coil swap? You're getting power through the ignition, coil, icm, plug wires, fuses? Is it rolling over when you try to start? Temp sensor is an idea, (because you were dealing with coolant system) sometimes can causes hard or no start. Does with my dsm anyway. Are you...

    cold start

Does it do this at any other time? Why do you suggest the oil pump, is pressure low? Have you narrowed it to the bottom end? Suggested piston slap, hear more from the top end? If you think piston, a compression test would give you more of an idea as far as maybe rings and valves condition. You...

    heat quiting

Could be the switch itself or the blower motor. Don't know if it's actuators or vacuum. My '01 grand cherokee is vacuum

How did they do it ???

That sucks man. I actually saw a news program a little while ago saying that people, car thieves, can use a device that reads the signal a fob gives off, while you're using it, and they use it to jack a vehicle. Don't know how this works but apparently it's happening. I watched this on CBC if...

    confused as sterile bunny

JEEPZ just installed a VIN decoder, this may help with more detail for your jeep when it comes to giving info for parts

    heat quiting

With addition to terrymason's questions, what do you mean by the whole module? By your description, which more detail would be appreciated, kind of sounds like a loose/intermittent contact or connection

So this is a weird one...

I would say the relay needs replacing. Is usually what the clicking indicates. Could be the switch itself, but I don't think it is. I would start with replacing/testing the relay before thinking about pulling the switch apart

    Was stranded, now stumped

Dielectric is more or less an insulator. Prevents arcing, sparking, corrosion, boots from drying out ect. and loss of voltage due to these things. Unless it's an induced voltage (ex. a transformer) where contact isn't necessary, as stated above, you need contact. Good contacts you shouldn't need...

    Auto start shutdown?

Assume you mean a car starter? They have all sorts of "safety" shut down stuff.Sorry loss for wording. I had an escort that it wouldn't work because of the hood latch button which disconnected. Some starters have a way to draw trouble codes. ex I had to hit buttons on fob in a certain way and...

    Was stranded, now stumped

Lack of follow ups (resolution status) is one of my peeves too :x Don't be shy with the dielectric, it will help protect from corrosion on battery posts/clamps

2002 Grand Cherokee Heater Core Leaks at bolt under pass feet

I would suggest picking up a manual for 30$ ish, haynes has them online(digital copy) as well. There is a lot to it, the entire instrument panel must be removed to allow the heater/air conditioning unit to be removed. What does a shop call for 5+ hrs I bet. a/c lines(calls for a special tool)...
