I don't live in the area but what I would suggest is that you find a local Jeep club and talk to them. They will have the information you'll need for where to go that's not only safe, but legal and FUN!! It will also give you folks to wheel with who know the ropes. The place that you're wanting...

No way would I go alone that close to the border with the way things are these days nor would I go without being heavily armed even if in a group. The larger the group the better. You're just asking for trouble. If you have to hike in you stand a pretty good chance of coming back to an empty...

Well... I kinda put that on hold for now. In fact, I just spent the day yesterday putting a good paint job on the bumper, so ruining it to weld a stinger on it is not in the forseeable future. Ya see... the whole stinger thing was going to be about $300 that was the cost of my SAVVY gas tank...
