    I know it's not a Jeep

1045095 Keep your jimmy problems to yourself Start it up, check the voltage at the battery, if it reads below 13-14 it's the alternator, if it reads fine the battery isn't holding a charge.[addsig]

    Soft Top Material

1041751 this looks like it's a bit late but in case you're still looking between the two you listed I'd say multi-layered denim. if canvas is a choice that would be your best bet. HTH[addsig]

    Is a SYE needed for a 4.5" lift with a 1" transfer

1041752 the lwb cherokee is a bit more forgiving when it comes to rear drive shaft angles. I'd be more worried about not having as much slip left with the slip yoke then vibes, which is why RE recommends you have it. You might not need it, but it's a good idea to get it.[addsig]

    Spring Over help...

1041764 if you haven't already done so you will need to install an SYE kit and that will require a new driveshaft. When you rotate the diff. housing it's better to get new beefier shock mounts since the stock YJ ones tend to break if stressed.[addsig]

    spark wires

1041772 No special tool is required to pull the wires off, they might require some elbow grease but that's about it if they're stock on their well make sure you hold the boot tight and don't pull by the wire. Also pull straight off as to not break the plug or the connector.[addsig]

Transfer Case for a 90 cherokee

1041778 If you just have part-time 4WD it should be the NP231 I don't think they offered full-time that year but please correct me if I'm wrong and ignore the rest of this post not sure what years or even if it was used in a Comanche. as far as fixing it, it depends on what broke, there...

    Color change

1041787 repainting can be a real pain in the butt because of all the sheet metal that shows on the inside. If you have lots of time to do all the prep work, it can be really worth it because nothing beats having it look how you want [addsig]

    I miss my Jeep!

1041789 it leaves alot of gaps. with full doors, it will leave a gap between the top of the door and and the roll bar, the side of the door and the roll bar, and there will be holes inbetween the windjammer and the main hoop because it isn't a perfect fit, atleast not on my YJ. My...

    1.5" shackles & 2"body lift

1041818 31"s if you like a little room, 32"s would probably be the biggest you can fit. This is assuming your stock springs haven't sagged at all. The widest tire you can safely fit on an 8" wheel is 12.50".[addsig]

What's the WORST car you've ever owned?

1041820 worst car I ever owned was an '84 Olds Omega... typical GM paint job.. nothing but electrical problems... however it made a nice bon fire while driving down the road one day [addsig]

    What to do...

1041821 it all depends on what you want! I've owned a '63 CJ-5, a '95 YJ, and now I have an '02 TJ... I'm not gonna get into what one is better.. we all know where that goes... but if WesternStar says he wants a TJ, he probably meant it for some reason so as far as which TJ to get it...

    suspension or body lift

1041822 31"s fit on a stock TJ, no need for any lift to clear them providing you have wheels with a decent amount of backspacing. If you're looking for cheap I'd recommend the RE budget boost, it's a 2" spacer lift with new bumpstops and new shocks. At 2" of lift you should replace the...

    suspension or body lift

1041825 yup, a bunch of companies make them, some are taller mounts, some use spacers. It lifts the engine 1 inch at the mounts raising the pan up. Since it leaves the transmission mount stock it also tilts the whole driveline down which helps with vibrations from lifts.[addsig]

    Hard top questions

1041846 I don't have a garage to store the hard top either, best thing I found to do was to set the top on a tarp, and then put a second tarp covering the top. If the tail gate keeps popping up you can use a broom handel to hold it in place. Easiest way I found to take it off is to just undo...

'97 TJ sputters in 2nd or 3rd when warm

1041847 it sounds more like an engine problem, it only does it in certain gears because the engine is under load then. If the problem isn't constant I'd just check all the usuals first (all filters, spark plugs and wires, distributer and rotor, and other small things that are replaced with...

    Jeep to Jeep Waving

1041856 the proper way to wave is to wave to every Jeep you see, we're all one big happy family! the thing about long wheel base Jeeps is most of the owners don't get the Jeep thing so they don't wave, and as a result most short wheel base Jeep owners give up on waving to them in gerneral...

    Rodent ate wiring on Liberty

1041857 I've never heard of this either. The most human way would be one of those ultra-sonic devices like you talked about. If not moth balls might work but how do apply them to the underside of your Jeep? [addsig]
