Satellite Plug and Play Tuners - do they work OK?

Do these work? Looking at the Serius Sportster or Audiovox Plug-and-Play with remote tuner on a dash mount and magnetic antenna. Just wondering if they sound as well as an in dash unit. Has anybody had problems. I have an 05 Outback DD and they have a very proprietary radio. Can't use an after...

Planning on buying a 4.0l YJ 93 need advice

RE: OT -- "Store Wars" Sounds high to me. See if he drops when you say you changed your mind. I'm in an expensive area and maybe mid 4Ks would be a better price. Just my opinion

cj7 drop pitman arm question proper drag link angle

RE: OT -- "Store Wars" I used the Skyjacker and it worked fine. I did have bump steer before I installed it. Scared the hell out of me when it happened, felt like something broke off in the front end. There are two Skyjacker dropped arms, one for power steering and one for manual. Not every...

Never owned a Jeep. Tell me why I should buy one

Jeez, how to turn off a new Jeep-maybe-owner :D Until I changed the suspension 3Xs it was a killer. I was sooo tired of running to the chiropractor every time I ran over a grasshopper.

Never owned a Jeep. Tell me why I should buy one

  Sorry, I should have said TJ. I'm used to bare bones, leaf sprung, stiff, sheet metal interior, square head lighted YJ. I won't even bring up the Willys :D

Never owned a Jeep. Tell me why I should buy one

Just because I'm always looking ahead; the Rubicon will give you a better return for your money when you resell.........if you can afford it. .......or the Sport with the D44/30" wheel option is the only other I'd get. Hard top especially in TX because of the summer heat. Soft tops are fine in...

12.5" tire on 8" rim? ** Yes or No?

I had mine on 8" rims for 5 years and ~40,000 miles at 27 psig and they still looked even to me. I used to drive mine up north every weekend in the winter  so they saw plenty of highway use ( use a 2005 Outback now  ).

    wiring harness for 90 YJ

I use www.walcks4wd.com in PA for just about everything, especially the old CJ2A parts. I think his prices are better for most stuff.

    YJ Indicator Lights

RE: 12.5" tire on 8" rim? ** Yes or No? For a lot of that wiring stuff, I just cut at a good spot and use bullet connectors for reconnecting. Easier to find the wires when you reconnect (if they're color coded).

12.5" tire on 8" rim? ** Yes or No?

Sure, 8" are fine. I think most people who wheel O/R prefer 8" to hold the bead better if you air down to, say 10 or 12 psig. BUT, I think the 10" work fine and look better for the street  . I bought mine at Costco as well as the BFG 33X12.5s but they wouldn't mount them because the...

    Gas Tank Leak

RE: Re: RE: Jeepy!!! Just look at what's going on on top of the tank. I know of a few instances where the rubber hose section to the sender was leaking, including mine on my YJ. You'll see the tracks or stains where ever it's leaking.

New body and frame, now it won't start.

They don't sell new CJs anymore, and that's the whole nut. You have to be around old Jeeps awhile to understand the mystique of owning an old CJ  .............and you own one. New Jeeps smell good and are shiny but they just don't do it. Saving a piece of Americana one Jeep at a time...

The happiest two days of a boat owners life...

Went wheeling, killed the Jeep! Don't mean to laugh but I was brought up around boats on the water in CT and now living inland 20 miles, I see people get excited about buying a boat. I feel like I need to shake some sense into them but I have to let them find out for themselves. Later, maybe a...
