    Rowher

Man I wish I could go this weekend, but I've got plans with my wife this weekend. I was away for a couple of weeks and then went up the coast last weekend with some buddies (which is when my jeep cooling system problems came into play) and haven't spent much time with my wife so I'm grounded...

Thermostat and oil pressure-- All fixed

So I replaced the thermostat and the cooling system seems to be functioning properly now, along with the new heater core. Temperature climbs normally and the heat works. However, I'm still getting really high oil pressure. The needle buries after just a few minutes of running. Any thoughts?? I...

Thermostat and oil pressure-- All fixed

So I have an update and still am having problems. I don't know if they are related or not but I've got 2 problems. The first is the cooling system not functioning properly. I replaced the heater core and hoses flushed the rad. and now the engine is getting hot very quick but the coolant is not...

Thermostat and oil pressure-- All fixed

No not really, and I didn't ever really "overheat", I was loosing coolant and getting hotter than normal, but the couple times I stopped and checked there was still coolant present when I refilled. When I finally got home the oil pressure was normal, and between then and this afternoon, I...

Could this situation be the cause of the high oil pressure as well? Thx LBR.

    Coolant leak - heater core

Nice call Tug, depending on how my time looks I may just do that! Don't think I need the blower upgrade, mine works like a champ! My last YJ definitely needed the upgrade but this '91 works great.

    Coolant leak - heater core

Yeah, just went over and picked one up. Hope it is not to tough to install. Sounds from other threads that it shouldn't be too bad.

    Coolant leak - heater core

Hi all So I was driving home Sunday afternoon when I got a hole in the hose that goes from the heater core to the intake manifold. Got her home with some hose repair tape and a couple of extra coolant stops. So this afternoon I replaced both hoses that go from the heater core (one to intake...

    Explorer ProComp ES 3000 shocks

Hey all, Just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with these shocks, they're the same price as the Doetsch Tech 3000's and I can get them locally for $131 (for the set) and avoid the shipping. Essentially based on reading the threads I'm interested in the DT 3000's but would like a...

    Got in an accident

That really sucks, but glad you're ok, that's the most important part. Unfortunately the accident will be your fault, even if the person was speeding. I was in the exact same type of accident when I first got my licence but I was the one who hit the person that was cutting through the traffic...

    Tune up - curiosity question

So I did a minor tune up on my 91 YJ this morning. Essentially I replaced the plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor along with an oil change. Anyhow, it is the first time I've personally done a plug/wire/dist/rotor change myself and I'm pretty happy with the ease at which I completed it. So...

    stock 2000 TJ rims/tires

I have the option to pick up a set of 4 tires/rims from a 2000 wrangler, cheap. Just wanted to check 2 things. 1) Will they fit on my 91 YJ without any hassle, I know size isn't an issue, more the bolt pattern. 2) What do the stock rims look like? The guy couldn't get pics, anybody have pics...

    1" body lift for tj

It also might depend on whether you have a 4 or 6 cyl engine. I just installed a 1" BL on my 91 YJ 2 weeks ago and I did not need to drop the rad or even the shroud. I have the 4 cyl and there was plenty of room between the fan and shroud. Haven't had any issues. But I can see with the 6 there...
