remember the idiot with the stories?

Really you should ask him if he's installed a "flux capacitor" and see what he says. he he. Then smack him in the mouth.

    Body Lift Height

You add the 1" pucks below the stock mounts to give you a true 1" lift. Are you planning on replacing the stock mounts with the BL pucks? Don't know if that is a good idea. Maybe someone else here has an opinion on that, but I think you should replace the mounts as well as add a 1" lift. I...

    new daily driver

We just picked up a civic sedan about 6 months ago. I did a lot of research since getting good gas mileage and reliability was our goal for my wife's daily commute. It boiled down to the Mazda 3 or the Honda Civic. We typically get around 38 MPG from it. It doesn't have as much power as the...

    Quick fluid question

Snitty is right, according to pretty much every post on this board the sulfur content will mess with the brass in the AX-5 transmission. Anyhow, any other suggestions/opinions on the fluids used in the other components listed in my original post?

    Quick fluid question

I'm coming up to needing fluid changes. Specifically the transmission, t-case and diffs. I've got a 91 YJ, 4 banger. I've searched the forums and got most of the info I need but wanted to double check a couple of things. Transmission: Syncromesh or Redline MT-90 Transfer Case: ATF (or can I use...

Party lines and good (at least might have been) men lost...

You have hit the nail on the head TC. Not able to vote here sucks since I'm only here on a student Visa, but I do try and follow the political scene closely especially during the election times. The 2 party system seems destined for the type of scenario TC has described, because politically...

instead of playing trial and error

Seriously, I did it once on my YJ and it was a total nightmare. I just had new ones installed in the dash for $60 at a local stereo place. Those guys are used to installing them, do have small hands to get in tight places and it took them less than 1 hour. It was SOOOOO worth that money. I'm up...

    If you haul, don't "UHaul"

Yep, won't rent any type of trailer to a jeep. I just borrow somebody's car/truck to pick up trailers from Uhaul and then hook it up to the jeep when I get home. They can't do anything when you return it with the jeep, most don't even care as long as they have the trailer back.

    Jeepz.com Back!

Yes indeed, hackers with a real political or anti-American agenda won't really impress the rest of the hacker community by bragging about hacking jeepz.com. And I quote from the jeepz.com hacker "Man I really socked it to those Yanks...took down their jeep site for a whole two days. Now lets see...

    Normal Operating Temp

Hi, I was going to post a similar thread. My 91 YJ (with a 4 banger) had an operating temp of 210°F. I just replaced the thermostat (and heater core and their hoses along with a rad flush) with a 180°F variety. Now my operating temp has dropped to about 185°. I assume this is because of the...
