I don't remember exactly how many there are but there is around 5 or 6 I think. Look at the firewall and you will see just a nut on the firewall with nothing attached to it. There are a couple above and below the battery and a couple more leading over to the back of the engine.

First I would check the choke to make sure you are opeining the whole way. After that I would look for vacuum leaks. What did you do at the back of the carb to seal the bottow. If its leaking air is won't want to idle.

The main benefit of the motocraft is the air. A weber Carb is just slightly more than stock 300 CFM'S "I think". I believe the motorcraft 1.08 size if I remember correctly is a 400 CFM's and that means alot more power and you don't have to mess with all the sensors for the fuel injection.
