    Slave cylinder

I would Think you should be able to. You Will have to replace the shift fork to and external one. Is there a whole in the Bellhousing on the side for the fork to come out? If not you might have to replace it with another bellhousing that does have one. Other than that you will have to...

    The next question is...

One thing you could try would be to plug all the vacuum ports on the Carb. this will stop any vacuum leaks and should allow the engine to Idle. Try that and see what happens. As for the real vacuum diagrams I can't really help. You could get a repair manual. I prefer chilton but niether it...

Is the Weber 32/36 DGEV the best.

Brake lines Probably your Best bet would be to get a Clifford Intake if they make one. I know this is how is works for a 258 so I will assume if they make one it will work for yours as well. Then you need to Get a two barrel Adapter that they make for thier Intakes. Clifford sells those...

Is the Weber 32/36 DGEV the best.

I would again have to agree with Tug. From what I have heard The Motorcraft is much easier to tune and get running. When I hoocked mine up I literally botled it on and it fired right up. I had no vaccum lines hooked up, the ports were still plugged. The only thing I had to adjust was to...

Is the Weber 32/36 DGEV the best.

I would have to agree with Bounty_hunter. I have the Motorcraft 2150 carb. with the 1.08 venturi size and its the best thing I ever did to my jeep. This size motorcraft is a 400 CFM carb. The weber is only a 300 and even the weber 38 is only a 350 cfm I believe. It is also much cheaper I...

    Another problem! Bad coil?

It is supposed to have 9 volts between the positive on the coil and ground. One thing you could always do it just leave it how you have it. If you have 12 volts on the stock coil you will be getting a good bit more power than you are supposed to have just like that. You can leave the spark...

    Burnt engine harness...

Really all you needed to do it put inline fuses in for any aditional wiring you do as close to the power source for them as possible. if you had the moment it rubbed through and shorted out if would have blown the fuse and wouldn't have caused a fire. Just something to think about.

    Another problem! Bad coil?

I got one possibilty. Have you or anyone else rewired your jeep. The coil is supposed to have resistance wire running from the ignition switch to the coil to drop the voltage to only 9 volts on the positive terminal of the coil. Do you have a simple multimeter that you can check the voltage...

    4 cylinder to 6 cylinder?????????

I do have the 232 CID engine. It is a very strong engine. And it is Identicle to the 258 from the outside. They only difference is the Stroke is shorter which gives the less displacement. They only made them up until 78. With the Mods I have done to it, it has lots of power. In fact unless...

Well you could use the a wiring harness for the engine. You might want to look for one a a junk yard but chances are you won't find one. To make the engine Run you need an ignition Module. If you go to Autozone its wells part number is F102, of just look one up for you jeep at the parts...

    81' 258 wiring

Well for starters the ford ignition is an ok ignition system and its fairly simple. If you want really simple you can get a Hei Dist with everyhting inside. All you need to do it run a ignition hot wire to the dist and that's it. Look for one at www.4wd.com As for the other wiring, you need...

    Ignition Module

I am sure someone has had this problem before. I switched back to the stock coil and I haven't had a problem since. However I really would like to use the better coil it has noticably more power with it. Does anyone have any Ideas besides putting a resistor in line with the signal wire from...

    Ignition Module

I solved that problem and Got another. Now it keeps blowing Ignition Modules. I have gone through 2 since tuesday. The wiring is right and it runs good until all of the sudden it will die. I have done the TFI Upgrade. Could the High output coil be hurting the Module? Anyone else had this...

    Ignition Module

That is another wire. It runs without it, but it is hard starting. I was thinkings that it is why it doesn't want to start. I just put a new distributor in it and that required a new ignition module for the new style dist. I hooked everything else up and it runs great. It made a huge...

Swap a carter w/ a carter? What was i thinking?

Well that's the problem with replacing the carb. No matter whether you go with the Weber or the Motorcraft you will have to do the bypass since niether have the electronics. I have the Motorcraft 2150 (1.08) and I love it. It runs great and has so much more power. It is a higher cfm than a...

    Transmission & Fiberglass

Well I can tell you from experience you might want to watch. I have the T-176 in my jeep. Its a pretty good transmission but mine doesn't have a sychroniqed first. They are supposed to be so the Sychronizeres just might be out on first gear, but its only first. They rest work just fine. So...
