    CB Radio.... engine noise?

Go to A CB shop. Most Truck Stops have then too. You are looking for a Noise filter that goes inline with the ground of the CB. Then just make sure you have a GOOD ground preferable to the Frame and that should take care of it.

    Carb Problems

My first guess would be you have a vacuum leak. That will cause the high idle and possible stall due to lake of fuel in the air that sneaks in. Trying spraying some starting fluid around the base of the carb and see if the idle speed picks up. If is does you have a leak and look there to seal...

    Intake/Exhaust Manifolds on a 4.0!!!

Carb Problems That is interesting you still having that problem. I really don't know but I can give you a couple more Ideas. First I would try to call or email Clifford to see if they make a header that will clear your intake. It might be because you have dual outlet header that is didn't...

    What is this thing?

Exhaust for a yj?? On my 76 engine is has what you are discribing and it is for the EGR valve. It is a vaccum Switch. The EGR valve is not ment to open when the engine is cold but after is warms up it opens. That switch is screwed into the Block into the Water jacket.

    What to do?

Well I got bad new for you. There really is no easy bolt up engine swap except to put another 4 cyclinder in it with less miles. You will altleast have the swap the Bellhousing too and probably the input shaft to the transmission. Its possible just a good bit of work. If you really want to...

    Suggestions Anybody?

I don't really know but I would amagine you could get rid of the pins as longs as the bolts still line up that would keep it in alignment. The pins are only there to make it easier to put together. The only other thing I could think of is I think read on the 4.0 head swap somewhere that you...

    MSD coil

What Kind of jeep so you got? Does it have the 258? If so, Have you done the TFI uprade? If not I would not suggest doing it. You probably wouldn't get the full affect out of it. However is you do the upgrade you could always use that as the new coil for it.

    questions about motorcraft swap

I am glad to finally hear someone compare a motorcraft to a Weber. I have heard so many people say including myself that the Motorcraft is great. But I never heard anyone that got a motorcraft after having a Weber so they could make a good comparison of the two, until you just said that. Good...

    questions about motorcraft swap

Well I hope I can help some. As for the choke if it is an electric you don't need the heat tube too. I have the heat tube on there but I have it plugged. The eletric part works just fine by itself. I don't beleive they had a choke that wasn't electric unless it was a manual. The heat from...

    Ignition Modules!!!!! UGH

Ok Fourtrial, I think we need to stop this. I am not going to say you are wrong and at the same time my way works too. There are more than one way to do anything. Why did chrysler use Ballast resistors and Ford Use Resistance wire? They both in essance do the same thing. They stop you from...

    Ignition Modules!!!!! UGH

Just one Question. Aren't Ballast Resisots usually made of Ceramic. I work at Autozone and I have never seen a Ballast resistor that wasn't ceramic accept for the really small button style that go into the Dist. cap on some GM's. With the Setup I have, I have over 80 watts of disipation...

Harmonic balancer will not fully seat

I guess I would say check the Pulley alignment. It they seem pretty straight and the belt doesn't come off I wouldn't worry about it.

    Ignition Modules!!!!! UGH

You mean Napa has a Ballast resistor for the 258. I looked everywhere but there when I had my problem and everyone said they don't make a Ballast resistor on a 258. I have first used 5 watt resistors from Radioshack and smoked them. I found the 20 Watt's times four should be more than plenty...

    Ignition Modules!!!!! UGH

Yes you did get that right. You are only supposed to have about 9 volts on the coil. It should have reisitance wire from the ignition switch to the coil. It looks just like normal wire so the only way to know is to get a Multimeter and check the voltage on the positive terminal of the coil...

    4.2 sputtering

That is something I have heard alot of people say about Webbers. Don't get me wrong they are good carbs. but they have a tendency to be difficult to tune. You need to get it just write. That is why I got a Motorcraft 2150 (1.08 size). I did alot of reserch into it. They are very stable. It...

    4.2 sputtering

Well one possibility could be that you have it set too rich. That would cause the gas mileage to go down and could also cause it to sputter if you are flooding it. Have you tried to adjust the mixture to the highest RPM. It could also be a vacuum leak. So check the base gaskets and all...

    83 cj7 engine swap question

That us very true cra034. I completely forgot about that. Cilffords Motto is 6=8. What they claim is that if you swap the camshaft Header, and Intake to thiers you can get the same horsepower as a v8 out of your 6 cylinder. This has huge benefits since you don't have the weight of the V8...

    83 cj7 engine swap question

Well I understand what you are saying. However is all depends on how quickly you want to get the job. As with anything you look long enough and you will find what you need cheap. When I did my swap from a 4 cyclinder to an I6 I needed to get the bellhousing for that engine and my...

    83 cj7 engine swap question

May I ask why it costed you do much. The last time I was at the junk yard here I found 4 360's in about 20 minutes. That Yard sells engines for $200 as is no matter what. it does't cost that much to get one rebuilt. Besides he wants to put a 304 in and not a 360.

    83 cj7 engine swap question

The 304 would even be marginal with the stock transmission and axles. You put a 350 behind a T5 and you are just asking for trouble. It can be done but I just would not recomend putting all that work into an engine swap and have to do it all over again since you ripped out the transmission...
