    2006 FJ - It's baaack.

RE: drive shaft angles? what should they be? help!! That has got to be the worst thing I have ever seen.... If I won it in a raffle I would preten to be someone else and hurry up and leave. Just another reason to stick to helping out our economy and sticking to an american car company.

    2000 XJ Rough Idle

All cars have to have spark plugs unless they are a Diesel. I only have a pseudo Dist. It has a short shaft that sticks up a few inches and I beleve that's the camshaft position sensor on top. I just tried to pull any codes and and its says Pass no codes stored. It almost seems like it was...

    2000 XJ Rough Idle

crank position sensor I have a 2000 XJ with 4.0 I6 with a KNN FIPK. Other than that the engine is completely stock. What I don't like is just recently it doesn't idle very well. Its does idle and has never stalled on me but I just don't like how it idles. The other day I was stuck in traffic...

    Nutter bypass

RE: Horn fix!! The Difference is the one that says Hot in start is only hot when the ignition ket is turned the whole way. While the engine is cranking. For this you need to tap into the signal wire to the starter solenoid. I crimped a connector on mine and ran it right from the solenoid...

Motorcraft 2150, kinda need info quick.

Hardtop/Full Doors/Sliders for 94YJ and other items wanted The Motorcraf carb is not meant to be used on a jeep but someone at some time tried it and it works very very well. The difference is that the Jeep manifold has the small two barrel bolt pattern. The motorcraft has the wide bolt...

    CJ-7 carb problems, please help.

RE: hard doors I would say your probably need a new Carb. The carter BBD is not a bad carb when NEW. However once they get some age they don't work well at all. I would recomend either getting a profesionally rebult carter or get another Carb like A Motorcraft 2150. The Reason I don't...

    4wd shudder

RE: Re: Can Just a guess you need to check your air pressure in all tires. If they are not the same your tires won't all be the same size and can cause what your describe.

    1993 Jeep Cherokee

One trick I have learned to test whether it is a fuel problem or a spark problem, is to use some starting fluid. Remove the rubber intake tube off of the throttle body. Have someone spray a very small amount into the trottle body as you crank the engine over. If it kicks and stalls right out...

    cj7 overheating 258

A bigger rad probably won't make much difference. If its a stock engine the stock rad should work fine unless it is blocked. If it is old it might not be a bad Idea to change the rad. What shape if the water pump it. Loosen the belt and see if the pully spins freely. Does the fan have a...

    '00 Cherokee Cargo Area Vibration

I have experienced the same thing with my 2000 xj, but have not had time to investigate it too far. Part of the noise I fixed. It was the plastic skin on the inside of the hatch right at the bottom of the window. I tucked some foam tape behind and and that stopped that. It just recently started...

    VERY frustrating oil leak

The only things I can think of is first is your PVC system hooked up and working. It is not it could be causing pressure to build up in the valve cover and push the oil out. Second is if there is alot of sludge in the valve cover not letting the oil to drain back into the pan fast enough...

    Advise for the new guy

cj suspension questions: what type of lift? Some of the problem is the cheap rotors they used. Another problem is the cheap brakes they used too. You can't go to your local auto parts store and buy the $9.99 brake pads and expect everything to work good. The other brakes are more expensive...

    Gasket for Headers

I had this problem for quite a while and tried many gaskets and couldn't solve the problem. What I finally did was use a stock gasket and got a tube of ultra copper silicon. Put a thin coat on each sice of the exhaust gasket and bolted it up. No leaks yet after a year. I wouldn't use it on...

    Brake Warning Light reset

RE: Cell phone users I have read for many other cars they recomend bleeding the front brake first to make sure the Proportioning valve's piston is centered. Even if you didn't touch the front. Then you can bleed the rear.

    Samauri Question

I was just told by a friend the springs will not fit. Someone he knew tried it. I am not going to argue if they are good. I just can't stand people complaining about the economy and then you look and they don't drive an american car. Outsourcing is the #1 cause of where we are today. I...

    85 cj7 4wheel question

The Best way I have found to do it only works if you have a manual trans. Put it in gear 1st of reverse doesn't matter. Pull on the level while you let the clutch out just a hair until it just grabs and it will pop right in. You just need to line up the gears so they can mesh.

    FYI for the OBA people

I am just going to let out a guess that he said it was a 96 CJ because he might have built it with all new parts in 96. He might also have put the GM 4.3l vortec v6 in it. I don't know but its possible.

    82 CJ7 Relay?

I don't think that's it. It does have something to do with the alternator I think. But the voltage regulator is built into the alternator. It seems like it is switched when the alternator starts charging but everything works with it unplugged or not. I have have it unplugged for a couple of...

    82 CJ7 Relay?

My jeep initially had the 151cid 4 cylinder in it. On the passengers side fenderwell in the engine compartment mounted below the loop for the heater hoses. What is it? It looks like a metal relay that has three wires coming out of the bottom. they get power from something. Everything runs...

    easiest carb

What wrong with a Motorcraft? If you get a professionally built one it is just as good as brand new. The problem with anything else is they are expensive. The cheapest I have ever seem a webber is $295 and that's on ebay. I also don't like them because so many people have a hard time making...
