Your top is flawed, if it is installed properly. My new Bestop for VEX went through a thunderstorm last night: 1 1/2" of rain and hail, in an hour. I had just put the top back on about 40 minutes before the storm. This morning it was bone dry inside as it should be. Get it replaced.

The phony little plastic gear inside the transmission is shot. No biggy. Get a new one and that will fix it if you get the whole gear, cable and bezel screw in nut, all as one.
