    Broken rear upper shock mount.

So on my way home last night my left rear upper shock mount broke. The mount rotted off but the frame looks ok from what I can see. Does anyone know of any bolt on shock mounts or are they all weld on replacements. I didn't want to weld because my brake lines and fuel lines are in the way.

    cj7 tail light problems

When the directionals are on do the front flash? I would say check your fuses but you probably did that. Could be a bad ground (as stated above), bad or melted switch, or your wiring from drivers tail light to the switch. What I would do is start at the switch and work my way back.

    Lift and shocks

With a 2" lift can I use the stock shocks or will they not have enough travel?

Backfiring and stalling coming to a stop

I have questioned my fuel gauge since I got the jeep (3 weeks ago). I drained the tank 3 days ago and I did find some water so I'm hoping that was the problem but I guess time will tell.

Backfiring and stalling coming to a stop

I've been keeping my fuel above 1/8th tank and I haven't had any problems but this weekend I am replacing all vac lines (even the good looking ones). So I hope this will be the end of that issue.

Backfiring and stalling coming to a stop

Is it possible that it was water in the fuel? While this was going on I was at 1/8th tank and after I filled up it stopped.

Backfiring and stalling coming to a stop

Yeah I'm going to auto zone after work tomorrow and I'm getting a **** load of vac hose and replacing it all. The ****ty part is that all the vac hose looks somewhat new. I was also thinking maybe the carb was on its way out like something was getting stuck.

Backfiring and stalling coming to a stop

I'm not sure what carb it is but I think it's the stock one from 87 4.2l. Just hoping I can find this prob and fix it before Sunday so I can take my wife out on some trails.

Backfiring and stalling coming to a stop

It's pretty sad that I've been a diesel mechanic for 15yrs and I don't know **** about these older gas engines.

Backfiring and stalling coming to a stop

Ok so the carb cleaner did nothing. She will sit at idle as long as the choke is on but if I kill the choke it will stall. Also when the choke is set and I remove the air cleaner it will stall. This thing is driving me nuts.

Backfiring and stalling coming to a stop

It's a 87 YJ. The booster is leaking so bad that I can hear it in the cab. I'm going to try the carb cleaner trick and see what happened. I will also change the air filter and I'll let you guys know. Thanks Tim

Backfiring and stalling coming to a stop

Could a vacuum leak cause this? I know my brake booster is sucking air but it was running fine till today. I know a vacuum leak will make it run like shit but could it also cause this? Cap and rotor, wires, and plugs where changed 2 weeks ago and my timing is on point. My booster will be changed...
