did you run a small bead of silicon on the seal ? we always do this because we don't run with the winsheild down and it just acts like a small insurance policy :)

ok, bought a 87 xj waggy with rear blocks and add a leafs. one of the add a leafs is cracked. upon looking at the stock springs i see sag after the add a leaf ( short ones) so i thought i would get a full length set and searched some sites. what some of the other xj'ers are doing is cutting the...

we got in a discussion again and can't be sure whos right. the 8.8 exlplorer bolt pattern.5on 4.5 same as a yj or 5 on 5.5 same as a cj ? can anybody help us out ?

my 77 cj7 had the 3 spd chevy turbo 400 and it was bulletproof. my 87 yj started out with a very leaky 999 but was a good transmission as long as it had enough fluid in it and now i run a tf 727 thats also bulletproof !! i'm happy with all my "juicers"8)

ha ! scored mega brownies by laying two rooms of carpet , installing new muffler on her jeep and summit got the new alt here yesterday and 15 min later she's on the road again and has 50 more amps to boot :) now its supposed to rain for the next week.....................blaaaaaaaaaaaaa

i had fenderwell headers on my 77 cj and loved them but they rust out fast unless you get ceramic.....

the choke is an easy fix so give that a stab 1st thing. your backfire is probably due to the non functioning choke and a cold engine. but to be sure eliminate the one 'known" problem and then see how it runs and go from there.

we live on a busy state highway that slows down to 25mph through town an the idiots spit and throw food in any cat with the windows down. needless to say we DON'T park the jeeps out in the road !

bit the bullet and ordered a 100 amp alternator from summit and it came in like two days ! great right?? the damn thing is frozen up....yup..great black powder coated boat anchor.....:bomb::x...oh well...guess i could hang out with the wife for one weekend.......:lol:
